Fireworks are the source of extreme stress for all animals during this time. Unfortunately we can't bite all the silly people that make so much noise to 'celebrate' but here are a couple of hacks to help your pet through the this season.

Make sure they're inside with you, and don't forget there are other little out there too who don't have a home to run into when they're scared, have a heart and place a few boxes in your garden for squirrels and other creatures and if possible leave your gate open for stray dogs to find sanctuary in your garden.

Share the love, keep them safe.

Every dog is a Good Dog

I started Good Dog treats because a. I am an avid dog lover and b. I am an avid cook and it seemed a rather natural move to combine the two.

Having had dogs all my life, I’m very particular about what they are fed, so fresh cooked balanced meals and healthy natural treats were a must. I used to bake these treats in large batches at home for them and they absolutely loved them. I’m also really proud of the fact that none of my dogs have ever been ill or needed to visit the vet for anything other than their annual shots and I firmly believe a great diet was a huge factor in this.

Good Dog treats came about as my heart project to address two things;

Every dog is a Good Dog, I am against breed stereotyping which is like racism for dogs. Pure bred or rescue, they are magnificent animals that are descendants of wolves! And they are fascinating creatures all on their own, and we as pet owners must love them for who they are just as they love us for who we are. They react how they are brought up, just like kids.

Good Dogs deserve good stuff, as a pet owner I cook everything that my dogs got, including their treats and I wanted to provide the same sense of comfort to other pet owners in knowing that their beloved pet’s treats are handmade with love and contain the best human grade ingredients for them because they deserve the best too!

I have often worried about what kind of ingredients or additives are used in commercial

treats and I believe most loving pet owners do too and if they could buy fresh homemade treats that are healthy and most importantly know what’s in them they would. It was a simple step from that to commercialize handmade treats.

All dogs are good.

Yes I firmly believe this, like children, they respond and react to how they are brought up and what environment they are in, but they’re not bad dogs. I want to promote more responsible pet ownership and encourage more participation in training pets, because they LOVE structure, and they are so intelligent they require and enjoy the stimulation of working on a new skill or trick. Treats are a great way to work on these together and also a great way to keep them occupied.

Good Dog treats are the first step in a what I hope is a long and fun filled journey in providing great quality products for our four legged buddies because they sure do deserve some great stuff for putting up with us!
