Walkies We provide veterinary treatment, including neutering and spaying to street and stray dogs in Sri Lan

We are Charlie and Becky and our huge love for dogs started our dog walking business 4 years ago. Our family consists of our daughter Jessica and our three Huskies, Malakai, Star and Nero. We will collect your dog from your home or office at a time that suits you offering a full range of pet services including dog walking, socialising, training and taxiing for vet appointments etc. We make sure th

at they get plenty of interaction and socialisation when out, making friends and getting to know their canine neighbours while always being under the watchful eye of our team. We don't just stop at dogs though, we can sit, play and care for any pet while you're away.

There are over 3 million starving, dying dogs on the streets of Sri Lanka, unfortunately you don't have to go to far to buy a pedigree pup at a pet shop. These poor things are on display in raised cages, it's absolutely red hot and they don't even have any water to drink.

We picked up this little poppet today. She has terrible mange and would you believe, sunburn. She's had her first much needed shower and meal and we'll be feeding her up over the next few days. Fingers crossed for a full recovery. We're so happy we found her and we'll be asking for names once she's out of shock and her personality starts to shine through 🐾🐕🐾🌹

It's been a stressful time at Cameron Dog foundation for the last 3 days. After a few days of heavy rain, our property started to flood on Saturday and on Sunday we had to evacuate all 28 dogs from the property. Thanks to Miriam, Christopher, Matt and the handlers from Best Care Ambulances who supported Wendy and Ruwan in fishing all the dogs out of the cold water and transporting them to safety. The rain continues. All our animals are currently in private Kennels in Negombo, in Best Care Animal Hospital and with our friends at Fire Dragon. Wendy had to postpone her flight to the UK and is working to find a solution to drain the water and keep the dogs dry and safe. If you're able to support with any level of donation, we'd appreciate it right now. If you can help, please click this link http://www.camerondogfoundation.org.uk/donate/donate-money/ to donate by either Paypal or Facebook. No donation is too small and will help us with the kennel and hospital costs while we drain the water. We thank you all for your continued support 🐾🌹🐾

Handy to know if your pet unfortunately gets stung this summer

Bee and Wasp stings - Some or will try their best to catch bees and wasps but often get stung in the process.

Symptoms: Your pet may show signs of redness, swelling, rubbing/biting the area, and excess salivation.

Tips on how to neutralise the pain:

• Bee stings are acidic so to neutralise the pain you can apply bicarbonate of soda to the sting. Mix with a little water to make a gritty paste

• Wasp stings are alkaline so vinegar can be applied to reduce the pain.

DO NOT give Piriton etc without seeking veterinary advice first

Warning: If your pet has swelling around the neck/face affecting the breathing then seek veterinary advice immediately

Everything is starting to come together but we've found it hard to find the right images for our posters so we want to run a little competition. We want to find 5 of the most awesome dogs in the North East to take part in an advertising shoot for our 2017 festival!

Your dogs will be snapped by internationally published specialist dog photographer Sit Stay Capture - Rebecca Ashworth Photography and the photographs will be used to create campaigns for our 2017 epic festival.

All you have to do is comment with a photograph of your dog and we will choose four and then one at random on Friday 26th August.

The five lucky winners will also see their dogs turned into amazing cartoon portraits as well!

Good luck!

Very kind review 😊

I have used Becky & Charlie now for over 2 years and I couldn't ask for a better couple to trust my dog with. I know Loxley has great time while I'm at work 😀
They are trustworthy and conscientious, they collect him, walk him and return him, ensuring that I am kept informed if there is anything I need to know...
They have been a great help when I have needed extra support due to work and a broken arm and have also looked after my cats when I have been away!
I would highly recommend them to anybody who is considering using a dog walker,
Try them, you won't be disappointed!!!!! ###

Our Story

We provide veterinary treatment, including Neutering and Spaying to street dogs in the Western Province of Sri Lanka, we educate and assist local people to provide care and treatment for their own animals, and provide a permanent home at our shelter for those in greatest need. We operate our own Dog Shelter based in Banderagama Sri Lanka which has facilities to provide Veterinary care, food, shelter, Vaccinations, Neutering and Spaying facilities. We also work closely with the local people to educate them as to the advantages of sterilizing their dogs, and offer this to them as a free service. along with Vaccinations against Rabies, Parvo Virus and Distemper. We hope to eventually employ a full time veterinary Surgeon, and currently have a full time manager and a part time assistant to look after the day to day needs of the animals. We aim to promote the need for responsible ownership from local people who allow dogs to breed at their will, despite their being no food, care or shelter provided for their offspring. We aim to raise public awareness of the dreadful plight of these animals, and raise funds to enable us to expand our work over a wider area and therefore reduce the suffering of these animals and the amount of unwanted puppies born to them. We have formed a close working relationship with Best Care Animal Hospital and work in partnership with the hospital when treatment requires specialist or long term care.
