It's 2024, we shouldn't have to educate people on touching dogs that DO NOT belong to them without permission.

Just because you love dogs, doesn't mean the dog loves YOU. A dog reacting to unwanted physical contact, doesn't mean the owner needs to train their dogs.

You need to train yourself to ask for permission to approach a strange dog that doesn't know you. And if the owner says "no," the answer is NO. You do not get preferential treatment because you love dogs.

Dogs are still animals and they will react like the animals that they are. Domestication doesn't change that fact.

Normalize training yourself to be respectful of boundaries and ask for permission.

As pet owners, we often forget the importance of our fur babies mental, physical, and emotional health. While yes, they cannot verbalize in the same manner, as their caretakers, we took an unspoken oath to take care of ALL their needs.
