In other news, their presentation is this weekend! 😱🥹 It’s been a journey over the last few months working through colic surgery rehab and ground training with Phantom. We didn’t get as far as we hoped, but that is okay. Horses don’t live on our timelines! Not to worry, this isn’t the end for Team Phantom. This is only their beginning!

Two weeks until the 2nd Annual CVHR Youth Trainer Showcase! 😱🤩🐴🥰💜

We are just 2 weeks away from our 2nd Annual Youth Trainer Showcase and our teen trainers are preparing to show off what they have learned!

Our first team feature for this $5 Friday is Gabrielle and Hunter! Gabrielle is our youngest participant and she has been paired with OTTB Hunter Hollow!

Each team has been given a Fundraising goal as part of their training program. The fundraising goal helps the teens understand the costs associated with rehabilitating and retraining a rescue horse.

The 2nd Annual CVHR Youth Trainer Showcase will be held on March 4th from 12 pm - 4 pm at 8021 Olympic Way, Culpeper VA 22701.

At the completion of the showcase, Hunter will be available for adoption to a non jumping/racing home.

What a journey it’s been since the start of CVHR’s 2023 Youth Trainer Challenge! Take a scroll through memory lane with us and some of the photos highlighting our experiences with Phantom.

We’ve felt a range of emotions, from excited and passionate, to extreme worry, to determination and perseverance, and here lately we’ve been feeling so, so proud of how far we’ve come despite the obstacles and challenges!

For those new to our page, Phantom is a senior trakehner cross that our youth trainer was assigned to bring along in his training with the objective to have him WTC under saddle by March. The universe had different ideas! Phantom suffered a severe colic that required life-saving surgery just weeks into the challenge. We spent the next two months caring for him on stall rest, hand walking, and supervising gradually increasing turnout. Then we were released to continue training! Though Phantom is spunky and opinionated, Annabelle now has him accepting tack and equipment. The team is bouncing back and feeling confident!

With just over a month left, we still have around $1000 more to raise for our team fundraiser. Please share our story with your friends and consider a donation! Even $20 helps us reach our goal. Can you please share our story?
