Never assume. Research and search again, then commit!While deciding on a brand name I thought of one that was super catchy, simple and straightforward. I was so excited I only briefly searched to make sure there wasn’t a conflicting brand or product. After spending $300 on design work I found another brand with the exact same name. At first I let it get to me. But then I remembered that if I wanted the brand to be successful, I would have to be flexible and be able to pivot. So pivot I did. The Why!🔍
Every brand needs a “why”. The “why” is the reason behind the idea. The reason that the brand exists at all and the driving force that keeps you motivated to accomplish your goals.
Our why is simple, our why is Cliff.
Cliff is the newest member of our family and the reason we decided to make a dog supplement brand. From a young age, Cliff started to show signs of pain, limping, lameness and difficulty getting around. This was unusual especially for a healthy puppy. We were concerned as any other pet parent would be, and brought him to the vet. X-rays and tests showed that he was growing faster than his body could handle. He was physically tearing his growth plate from the rapid growth. We tried medication after medication with no real relief in sight. We saw a specialist that confirmed Cliff’s HOD diagnosis as well as excess cartilage buildup in his shoulders. The only chance he had at a normal life was an immediate surgery. This costly surgery was luckily a huge success, but we weren’t out of the woods just yet.
Cliff would need months of recovery, exercise and joint supplements indefinitely. We tried countless supplements and finally settled on one that somewhat helped. This supplement costs $100/mo to give to our two dogs. This wasn’t something we could afford to keep buying. We knew there was a better way. So we decided if we couldn’t find a cost effective and quality dog supplement, we would make one! So here we are. Building the world’s best dog supplement brand in the next 60 days!
