Are you planning to travel with your feline friend this summer? 🚗😀 Make sure these items won’t be missed:

🐱If you travel by car make sure that you have a cat carrier with you and ensure that this is spacious. If your trip is going to be several hours long, it is a good idea to offer small amounts of food and water in the carrier

🐱Going overseas? Make sure to ask your veterinarian if your cat needs any vaccinations, bloodwork, or special documentation before you travel

🐱Bring along your cat’s favourite toys and blankets - your cat will appreciate having some of their favourite items from home when travelling

🐱When going on a road trip, it’s helpful to bring a familiar litterbox and litter from home if you can. Cats are very sensitive to scents, and asking your cat to use a different type of litter or litterbox may lead to accidents on the road or at your destination

As summer approaches, it’s essential to ensure your dog stays safe and comfortable ☀️

Here are some top tips to protect your furry friend during the hot months:

🐶 Brush your dog's coat regularly to remove mats and excess hair. This will help them stay cool and prevent skin irritation.

🐶 Make sure your dog has access to fresh, cool water at all times. You might also consider freezing water bottles or adding ice cubes to their water bowl for extra refreshment.

🐶 Avoid walking your dog on hot pavement. The heat can burn their paws.

🐶 Adjust your dog's exercise routine for the summer. Make sure to give your furry friend a break from exercising during the hottest part of the day and let them cool off in the shade.

🐶 Be aware of the signs of heat stroke in dogs, which include heavy panting, glazed eyes, rapid heartbeat, and difficulty breathing. If you think your dog is suffering from heat stroke, take them to the vet immediately.
