ما سافر رسول الله ﷺ من المدينة إلى مكة في عام الفتح ، نظر في منتصف الطريق فإذا بكلبة تهر على أولادها ( أي ترضعهم ) ، وهم حولها يرضعون منها ، فأمر النبي ﷺ رجلاً من أصحابه يدعى " جعيل بن سراقة " ، أن يقوم عندها فيحرسها ، حتى لا يتعرض لها و لجرائها أحد من الجيش ..
ويقال أن تم تغيير مسار جيش المسلمين بأكمله لعدم إزعاج هذه الكلبة .
سيد الخلق والأخلاق في رحمته للحيوان .
