To relieve the suffering of animals of any species who are in need of care and attention, specifically to provide refuge, secure homes, sterilisation, vaccination, care of unwanted animals and the treatment of sick or ill-treated animals. We are a forever loving home to over 400 animals including 227dogs,130 cats, 27 donkeys, 2 mules, some wild animals such as boars, birds, goats and tortoises. We

also help many poor families with their animals. Morocco is a poor country and sadly many cannot provide dog or cat food for their animals so we donate as much as we can. We also provide for many strays in Tangier. WE ARE LOCATED IN THE VILLAGE OF SEBT ZINAT, 20km EAST of TANGIER following TETOUAN ROAD. We are saving hundreds of lives, we are changing the way of thinking, we are teaching love and compassion, we are helping our community, we are devoted in making this city animal friendly and safe for all. The poor cat needed emergency surgery. The kittens were all dead for a while and it’s a miracle she is alive with the amount of pus she had. Thank goodness for the kind human taking her to the clinic.

We were all absolutely shocked that this beauty was locked up in that tiny hole.
As we posted later we explained his human was doing an enclosure. My mistake he was fixing it and put his dog there to keep him safe. To us it is no excuse but we are happy to see he is loved. Ignorance is a big factor. The way to change mindsets is by telling individuals : Would you like to be locked up in a tiny hole for 10 minutes ? Of course the answer is no. So treat any living being the way you would like to be treated.
The owner does love his dog and I am sure he will never make that same mistake again.

Our Story

ANIMAL SANCTUARY OF TANGIER. To relieve the suffering of animals of any species who are in need of care and attention, specifically to provide refuge, sterilisation, vaccination, care of unwanted animals and the treatment of sick or ill-treated animals. We are a forever loving home to over 500 rescued animals including 330 dogs, 120 cats, 30 donkeys, 1 mule, 2 goats, some wild animals such as boars, birds, 2 barbary macacque monkeys and tortoises. We also help many poor families with their animals and educate them re animal welfare. Morocco is a poor country and sadly many cannot provide dog or cat food for their animals so we donate as much as we can. We also treat,neuter and vaccinate hudreds of strays in Tangier, via our “Project Hayat”.

WE ARE LOCATED IN THE VILLAGE OF SEBT ZINAT, 20km EAST of TANGIER following TETOUAN ROAD. We are saving hundreds of lives, we are raising awareness to replace endemic animal mistreatment with love and compassion, we are helping our community, we are devoted to making this city animal friendly and rabies-free safe for all. To date, we receive no government subsidies and rely solely on donations. Please help us!!!
