Sammy is the cat who fell and broke his pelvis. We rescued him and sent him for surgery. After being discharged, he needed cage rest and was still in pain. Dillion would encourage Sammy and assure him.
Dillion had nerve generation and became bed ridden.
Sammy would stay by him and let him know everyone loves him.
Rescue work can be stressful and even depressing.
But moments like this puts things into perspective.

When animals are rescued, they become part of the rescuer's value system and may end up being put down even if they can recover.
That is why this year's Vesak theme is animals as fellow beings. This means we treat the rescued animals with respect and as fellow beings. The approach is to offer them support to get well or be comfortable, not as a "rescue" that we do as we please.

Gold-D wet food and treats are all carrageenan-free.
Recently, we stopped the jelly range because the supplier of carrageenan-free ingredients discontinued it. We have found a new supplier and are evaluating it now.
We have many FIV and FeLV cats and they have a higher chance of cancer. But it is an ingredient that no animals should be exposed to because cancer is usually not reversible by the time we discover it.
We mention carrageenan-free on all of our labels.

Author Ingrid King, who is also a former veterinary hospital manager and veterinary journalist, has expressed concern over the presence of carrageenan.

Happy birthday Tamasan! We are so happy to celebrate her 12th birthday. Nine years ago, she was thrown out on the street and was so stressed and hungry. Our friend rescued her, and we adopted her. A new FB icon for the Gold-D Tabby. We set this up as a page for Seng Seng, our precious cat CEO. After he passed away, we decided the best way to honor him was to change the page into one for tabby cats.
Our tabby cats are all rescued or adopted. All sweet, cute, and adorable. There is no reason to buy. Adoption saves lives and frees up rescuers or shelter resources to help more animals.

Today we celebrate Teddy's 9yo birthday.
8 years ago, Teddy and his brother Mr. white were thrown out after they both had UTI. We fostered them and Mr. White passed away. We told him to go in peace and we told him we will adopt Teddy and look after him. Teddy was still a kitten then. Teddy is 9yo but still have a baby face. Very adorable and cute.

Dillion has nerve degeneration and is unable to walk so he needs the wheels. The 2 CEOs are discussing their plans 🙂

Gold-D FIV Time flies! 10 years ago today, we adopted Ken Ken, our first FIV+ cat. Ken Ken used to be a com cat till someone poured hot liquid on him leaving a big scar. We adopted him because we felt his chance of adoption is quite low. He was such an amazing sweet warm cat and later co founded Gold-D brand with his brother Gold-D. We cannot name it Ken Ken because it was the brand of a snack. Ken Ken passed away in 2017. Beautiful memories of an amazing sweet cat.

Gold-D FIV John John passed away last year at 18yo.
Today would have been his 19 birthday.
When he was found, he was very sick and almost died of liver failure. We fostered him while the rescuer rehome him. John John was very handsome so many people wanted him. But when they hear of his FIV status and liver failure, they back off.
We did not want to see him disappointed each time so we asked if he like to stay with us. We enjoyed 7 happy years with him and passed away of end-stage FIV last year. During his 7 years with us, he had no health issues and almost never fall sick. We miss him alot. He is a very special sweet caring and adorable cool cat.

Rahula Felv Sanctuary Today we celebrate Ben's 5th birthday.
When Ben first arrived, his condition was not very optimistic. Now 6 months later, he is a happy healthy boy.
We set up the sanctuary because we believe that with good care. FeLV+ cats can enjoy a good quality life.
A birthday like this is an amazing milestone for Ben. We love him lots and we wish him good health and happiness.

The joy of kittenhood. When we rescued Chorny Kot from an industrial estate, he was very sick and had parasites all over him. His immune system was very weak and for the next 1 year, it was very frequent visits to vets for different infections. He also had a deformed breastbone. It feels like a lump but there is no health implications.
Despite it all, Chorny Kot was a very sweet kitten. See how he massages his papa. Today, he's grown into a happy healthy adult cat but still very kitten like. We are so happy and so proud for this brave loving boy.

Gold-D Eunos 6 Today is Papa Richard's birthday. His babies choose a donut for him and gave him a big birthday hug.
Richard is an amazing papa to his babies. They always snuggle around him and he's always grooming them. Richard is also very nice and loving to the new babies diamond and baby Gus.

How time flies! 8 years ago today, Teddy came to us. Teddy and his brother Mr. White had UTI and were abandoned. The plan was for us to foster. Despite seeing the vet, Mr. White passed away. Teddy was still a kitten but had UTI, was abandoned, and lost his brother.
When we buried his brother, we told him to go in peace and that we will adopt and look after his little brother. So pls do not worry.
Now 8 years later, Teddy still has a baby face 🙂

Belated birthday celebration for Diamond!
She is 2 years old!!!!! Diamond was rescued last year near where Panther, a community cat, was murdered. When she was found many people wanted to adopt her. But when her heart condition was announced no one was interested so we adopted her.
She went for a heart scan and does not need medication at the moment. She needs a scan once a year to check on her heart condition.
Rebecca, baby gus mummy, treats her as another daughter. So now, Diamond has a home, a mummy, and lots of siblings!

8 years ago today, Rahula passed away.
He was abandoned by his owners and we adopted him for palliative care. Despite his severe condition, he lived happily for 8 months.
The night before he left, we told him if there is a chance to cure him, we will go for it no matter how much it cost. But there isnt. We told him after he go, we will be sad but we will be ok. What matters for us is for him to be able to let go of his ailing body and run free.
We also told him we will always love him and will never forget him.
When our rescuer friends found FeLV cats but have no place to go, we decided to take them in. And of course, we name it after this precious baby: Rahula Felv Sanctuary
This is the best way to honor and remember such a wonderful precious baby.
