Animal Care Malta Cat Sanctuary Dedicated to the welfare of animals since 2001. Please visit our website and read our story: animalcaremalta.com

Animal Care Malta is an officially registered non-profit voluntary organisation, dedicated to the welfare of the many stray cats in Mellieha, a town in the north of Malta. We are feeding and taking care of about 200 cats daily. Our priority is to take care of the cats in our (private) sanctuary and the cats in the colonies we’re feeding. There are 90 cats living in our sanctuary and we’re feeding

approximately 120+ cats in colonies. They are all neutered and when a new cat comes in (in our sanctuary or colony), he/she will be neutered and dewormed and deflead straight away. All the cats in our sanctuary have a story: most of them were found abandoned when they were tiny kittens, most of them with severe eye-infections and if they’re not treated with antibiotics and eye-ointment they will end up blind so, if we have the space, we catch them and take them to our sanctuary. A lot of them were bottle fed, some of them from the day they were born. When they are completely healthy, we try to find good homes for them but if not, they stay with us forever...

Please donate so we can continue our work!

🐾❤ Meet SAMMY ❤🐾

She was found in a colony, not streetwise and too friendly to be a stray. She could be lost so we posted her everywhere but unfortunately nobody claimed her.
We neutered her and after her recovery we just couldn't put her back in the colony so, although we're completely full up, we decided to let her join our big cat family. She's safe now 😸

When Jess and Svend came to see him they told us that they wanted to adopt an adult cat (not a kitten!) as he would better bond with their future baby 👶 😸
How right they were and we wish that there would be more people like them! ❤

❤️😺 And he's still going strong and happy! 😺❤️

Last year we took in SCOTTY as his owner was moving back to his country and couldn't take him with him.
Scotty was 8 years old, was always a home cat and was used to small children; he couldn't live in a sanctuary so we tried to find the very best home for him and we DID!
When he was homed the adoptees were expecting their first child and look how happy Scotty and their baby are now!
Thank you so much Jess Isabel Gartner for giving him such a good home! You're an example for a lot of people ❤

Our Story

Animal Care Malta is an officially registered non-profit voluntary organisation, dedicated to the welfare of the many stray cats in Santa Marija Estate, Mellieha. We are feeding and taking care of about 160 cats daily. Our priority is to take care of the cats in our (private) sanctuary and the cats in the colonies we’re feeding. There are 81 cats living in our sanctuary and we’re feeding approximately 80 cats in colonies. Other cats were saved from dangerous places and/or because they were sick or handicapped.

We rely on donations from sponsors so please donate to continue our work.

Thank you!
