AHIMSA is an ancient Sanscrit word that embodies the principle of Non Violence, Compassion, and Reverence for all living beings. At Ahimsa Santuario de Burros we also provide refuge and lifelong care for farm animals in need, and implement a "Meals on Wheels" (Alimentos Sobre Ruedas) program in our community to bring bring food and water to rural street dogs. We implement and fund the "Full Belly,

Contented Heart" (Panza Llena, Corazon Contento) program, a monthly service that delivers bags of dog and cat food to village households without the means to buy pet food. Our mission is to teach compassion and kindness toward animals and all living beings through our personal actions and hands on educational programs for children and young adults.
