About us / Acerca de nosotros
We are a couple who met in La Paz and what originally connected us, was our immense love for dogs. Together we have rescued litters of abandoned puppies, found homes for unwanted street dogs and brought lost Fidos back to their families. We would have kept them all, but our house is not as big as our hearts and we want the best for every four legged friend we meet. Our big dream is to build a dog rescue center in La Paz where we can help abandoned pooches to recover and find a new, loving home and also to improve education about humane treatment of animals in La Paz. Having a lot of friends with dogs who do not find enough time to walk their pets, we thought maybe our walking and training services might just be what is needed.
About Arturo Hammeken, Dog Trainer
Since I was little, I always admired and loved nature. Dogs always fascinated me, but it was not until I found Amelia, or rather, she found me, when I truly started to understand that animals are capable of thinking, feeling and suffering. I started to study the behavior of my dog and other dogs, especially street dogs. I got so into it, that I achieved a diploma in canine ethology, which even opened more perspectives towards dog behavior. For over 7 years have I now been in the field - learning and perfecting my skills towards a healthy and harmonious Human – Dog interaction.
