Our Christmas encyclical for 13 December 2024 from Saint Vincent's Home Mexico. Please share. Hi friends & benefactors,
This is my Christmas encyclical for December 2024.
It gets harder and harder to write these each month because im more dimwitted from brain fog from covid these past two years.
I shall try to make this brief and as long winded as possible. If you are new to our mailing list, we have over 200 rescue dogs in our care with very few adoptions. Im sorry to always have to ask for donations to help feed or dogs and pay their medical bills for vaccines, spaying & neutering. I hate asking people for money, but its not for me, it is as stated to care for our dogs here.
In the past month some people came around wanting to give us more puppies. Since they didnt have them with them, I turned them down. They had the same old story, they found them in the street, with no mama. The actual story is that the moma is their dog and they didint want to spend the money to have the dog spayed, so the puppies they cant get rid of. If they had brought the puppies, here, I probably would have taken them, as I always do. But in this case they looked well off and could afford to take care of them. A man came around with a Belgian Shepherd , a large dog he had for months. He didnt want him anymore, so I turned him away too. We cant take any more big dogs. We have so many and no money to feed them. Another man came with a moma and five puppies. See the photo. I took the moma and puppies. Sadly, one puppy died yesterday. I took the others to the vet right away yesterday and they got vaccines and worm kill; they had many parasites. I just hope the other 4 will be ok with the medicines they got yesterday.
If you follow our page every day or week, you may recall that I found a beautiful brown husky in the neighborhood lost in the street. He is still here, and the owners never came around to look for him. So here he stays. See the photo.
I have been asking our pals in USA to buy lottery tickets for us. Always hoping one of them will win so that we would have enough money to keep going for years and I wouldnt have to ask people to help all the time. I really mean it when I say, if you are having financial problems yourself, please dont feel you have to donate anything here. Only those who can well afford to contribute should be the ones to help.
As some of you may know, in the evenings I watch movies on youtube. Lately it has been crime movies with Brian Denehy. He was a great actor. Last month I watched all the episodes of a tv series called REACHER which is very exciting. Cant wait till the new episodes come on in a few weeks. I also liked the episodes of Boston Legal and last year the series NYPD Blue. All good t.v. series.
I must mention again, today we ran out of food today and there is only $8 in the bank account. We need help as soon as possible to get food tomorrow. If you would like to help, you can send through paypal to [email protected]. OR www.fundrazr.com/stvincentshome

Last month our Huskey Loba was adopted by a really nice young couple, and she is living the good life. She is loved and very well cared for. They take her everywhere, to the parks, restaurants, etc. See the recent photo of her taken while they were at a restaurant. I wish we had a hundred nice people to adopt our dogs like these folks.
Next Sunday Dec. 15th is Gaudate Sunday. It is one of only TWO Sundays in the liturgical calendar that Rose (pink) vestments are used in the church. The other in Lent is called Laetare Sunday. The Catholic , Anglican , Lutheran and other churches use Rose vestments once in Advent, and once in Lent. I mentioned this because when I was very small, maybe 5 or 6, My grandmother or my mother took me to church on Sundays and I was bored stiff always seeing green vestments that were dull , drab and very boring. One Sunday the priest came out wearing Rose vestments and I loved seeing them. Later years an Episcopal priest told me about them and later years I started designing vestments and selling them online. The rose vestments were my favorite design. See a photo of one of my designs made about 7 years ago. I dont remember who the priest was, but it was during kiddies first communion. All the vestments I designed and sold have become collectors items over the years and I stopped designing and selling them about 6 years ago. Always selling liturgical items new and used for over 25 years to raise money for our dogs. This is my website for the sale of my vestments and other items which are still offered for sale: www.paxhouse.com .
Every vestment you see offered in this website I personally designed. A local convent was making the vestments at first, then I hired a full-time person whom I trained to make the vestments to my specifications. The person knew nothing about vestments at the time, only repaired sewing machines and made some ladies clothing at the time.
Isnt that something¿
In other news and views, I want to comment about Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris. I couldnt believe it has been 5 years since the fire. I have watched all the news reports about it. I must say that I was appalled at the moderné crap thy put in the cathedral they said President Macroni insisted on putting in, i.e., The "altar" I refer to as a butcher block, the hideous baptismal font, and the cathedra. I know that every traditional Catholic feels the same way about this. Trying to make an old church look new. It was also stated that they saved the huge ROSE stained glass window, yet the didnt put it back, they used new less attractive glass instead. What a shame. The organist who played the great organ was terrible. His choice of "music" was just terrible. I could have done better myself. I hope the French people will put pressure on the bishop to return the original furnishings that were replaced with that moderné trash or at least replicas. The "vestments" that were used look more like clown costumes. This is my opinion, and everyone is entitled to my opinion.
In case you missed it, here is the entire reopening of the cathedral video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mA2qYaXISdw&ab_channel=NBCNews . Its over two hours long.
Im sorry to ramble on, but there is one other thing I wanted to say.
Im very sorry that Luigi killed the Insurance Exec Brian Thomson in NYC. No one should take the life of another person. I feel very sorry for the mans family and his two children.
I also I feel very sorry that Luigi has thrown away his young life and will most likely spend the rest of it in prison. A very sad event all around.
You are welcome to visit our mission any time with an appointment. Come and see what we are doing to save and protect our dogs. We would welcome more adoptions. They deserve a loving home. To make an appointment or to be removed from our mailing list, please send an email to [email protected] .
Sorry to write so much this time. I may write again later this month.
Wishing you all a wonderful Christmas, happy Hannuka, and a great New Year.
Thanks again to all our regular donors. We couldnt make it each month without your help.
With kind regards in His Service,
Lawrence
