Boba pulled out the enormous plastic cover of an 80” TV from a tiny cavity at the side of the box. We are hoping he will do something really useful like fold the laundry. This kitty can do anything he sets his mind to.

Perfect brotherly coordination. We frequently find Mika and Boba in exactly the same position doing exactly the same action.

Whoever invented CAT Tv on YouTube, you’re a genius. We keep these kitties entertained and entertain ourselves watching. Not in the video, but every kitty we know has tried to look behind the Tv to check where the object they were chasing went.

~~~The story of Kuro.~~~
**What would you do if you adopt a pet, then fall in love and your boy/girlfriend cannot accept the cat?**
Kuro was rescued as a little kitten by my friend. I helped post in social media and petfinder. A young girl contacted us almost immediately, to adopt little Kuro.
The girl had grown up with cats. It was apparent how much she loved cats. She promised that she would care for Kuro forever.
She stayed in touch with us and sent us photos of Kuro and we could see how much she loved him and he loved her.
Months passed. She contacted us to say she wants to return Kuro. She and her boyfriend had rented an apartment with friends. The boyfriend and friends were unkind to Kuro. They handled him and spoke to him like he was trash. The boyfriend said that if she didn’t get rid of Kuro, he would dump him when she went out to work.
I told her she should lose the boyfriend and the roommates, not Kuro. I asked her if she wanted to commit to a relationship with a man who had zero empathy of her love for animals. She said she was unwilling to give up on her relationship. She said she could not bear to see Kuro mistreated and was scared things would escalate to harm.
My friend took Kuro back. The girl was heart broken. Kuro escaped. He must have been so confused and scared at being returned. My friend searched tirelessly for him and found him after a few days.
The cat went through so much angst because he was dispensable to his adopter. Although she had adopted the cat first, once the boy came along, she decided the cat must go.
I appreciate that she is very young. I appreciate that she didn’t let the abuse of the cat persist. I appreciate she gave him back.
However, in my view, she should have kept the kitty and lost the boyfriend. For one thing, adopting is a commitment. If you wouldn’t give up a child or parent just because your boyfriend asks you to, you shouldn’t give up a cat or dog either. For another, I don’t think such a boy is worth it. She loved this cat. He didn’t care. She cried so much at giving him up. He didn’t care. A boy who is so incapable of compromise is going to be just as callous about her happiness when it comes to other matters. A boy who could toss the cat like he was garbage onto the sofa and laugh at his fear has no character.
Photo 1: Kuro as soon as he was adopted
Photo 2: Kuro at his first adopter’s home when slightly older. This was when he was being abused, though not to the point of physical pain.
Photo 3: The happy ending. Kuro has been adopted again and is a happy, spoiled kitty in his new home.
What is the right thing to do in this circumstance in your view? Lose the boy? Or lose the cat?
Boba is in love. Happy Meh, our newest rescue (also available for adoption) is the lucky lady. Boba is neutered. Meh was on heat and kept separately in another bedroom. He jumped at the door k**b to try to open the door to reach her!
We let them come together and have been seeing a beautiful love story unfold.
Little Meh, the tiny calico is our newest rescue. She is in heat (her spaying is scheduled to happen soon) and flirting outrageously with a very confused, neutered Boba!
How it all began: on April 19 2020, a cat (Jello) took shelter in a dormitory and gave birth to three lovely male kittens, Micky, Mika and Boba. The landlady of the dormitory decided to throw out the cats on the very same day. One of the tenants convinced a taxi driver to shelter the cars in return for a fee. The taxi driver neglected the cats and exploited the tenant for money. We took in the family when the kittens were about six months old to place for adoption. The mama cat Jello, and Micky were adopted first. Then Mika and Boba were adopted as a pair by a couple who returned them when the lady became pregnant because she could not cope. We hope the next adoption will be by a person who will think through the long term commitment and give the boys the permanence that they deserve.
