ความจริงนั้นเข้าใจง่ายเมื่อเราค้นเจอ

นี่คือสาเหตุที่ทำให้เราพยายามที่จะเอาความจริงเหล่านี้ อันเป็นที่มาของอาหารที่เรากินกันอยู่ทุกมื้อทุกวัน มาบอกมากล่าวมาเล่าให้พวกเราได้ฟัง ได้รู้ ได้เห็น

หากว่าใครก็ตามที่พบเห็นความจริงเช่นนี้อยู่ตรงหน้าแล้ว คงจะมีความเข้าใจได้เองว่า อาหารที่เรากินกันเข้าไปนี้มันมีต้นทุนที่สูงค่าอย่างมหาศาล มากกว่าราคาที่เราต้องจ่ายไปอย่างชนิดที่เปรียบเทียบกันไม่ได้เลย

ต้นทุนที่ว่านั้นนั่นก็คือ "ชีวิต" ความล้ำค่าของชีวิตมันมีมากมายขนาดไหนเราคงรู้กันดีอยู่ มีใครบ้างที่ไม่รักชีวิตของตนเอง มีใครบ้างที่ไม่หวงชีวิตของตนเอง

หากมีคนมาขอซื้อชีวิตของเรา เราจะขายไหม ถ้าขายจะขายเท่าไหร่ เพียงตัวอย่างง่ายๆแค่นี้คงทำให้เราเข้าใจได้ไม่ยากใช่ไหมครับ ว่าชีวิตของเรานั้นมีค่าแค่ไหน

แล้วชีวิตของพวกสัตว์ทั้งหลายที่ต้องตายมาเป็นอาหารของเรานั้นไม่มีค่าหรือ หรือมีราคาดังเช่นที่เราซื้อหามากินเพียงเท่านั้น ทำไมชีวิตเรามีค่าแต่ชีวิตของพวกเขาไม่มีค่า เป็นชีวิตที่แตกต่างกันอย่างนั้นหรือ

ความจริงแล้วชีวิตทั้งเราและเขาล้วนมีค่าเหมือนๆกัน แต่เป็นเราที่มองไม่เห็นเอง เรามองแต่ความต้องการของเราแต่ฝ่ายเดียว เราจึงมองไม่เห็นความเท่าเทียมกันที่มีอยู่ อันเป็นสิ่งที่ธรรมชาติประทานให้มา

เราล่วงละเมิดกฏแห่งธรรมชาติ โดยอ้างอิงเอาความต้องการของตนเองเป็นใหญ่ ไม่ใยดีการต่อรองร้องขอจากสัตว์ทั้งหลายเหล่านั้นเพราะถึงแม้พวกเขาจะพูดกับเราไม่ได้ แต่ก็แสดงอาการบอกเราให้รับรู้ ถึงความหวาดกลัว ร้องขอ ด้วยการดิ้นรนขัดขืน และส่งเสียงกรีดร้อง

แต่ทว่าเรากลับไม่ใยดี เราเป็นผู้กำหนดเอาเองตามอำเภอใจของเรา ในเมื่อสัตว์ทั้งหลายได้เป็นผู้ถูกกระทำฝ่ายเดียวมาตลอดโดยมีพวกเรากล่าวอ้างความชอบธรรมที่จะฆ่าและกิน

เพจนี้จึงเป็นเสมือนทนายแก้ต่างเป็นตัวแทนมาร้องขอความเป็นธรรมจากพวกเรา ใครก็ตามที่มี มนุษย์ธรรม คุณธรรม และมโนธรรมในจิตใจ เมื่อรู้เห็นและได้ยินได้ฟังแล้ว ย่อมบังเกิดความเข้าใจได้ในทันที ว่าชีวิตของสัตว์ทั้งหลายนั้นก็มีค่า อย่างน้อยก็ต่อตัวของสัตว์เหล่านั้นเอง พวกเขาล้วนรักตัวกลัวตายเท่ากันพอกันกับเรา จริงหรือไม่

ไม่มีสัตว์ตัวใดยินยอมพร้อมใจที่จะตายให้เรากินเลยสักตัวเดียว ดังนั้นคำกล่าวที่ว่าพวกเขาคืออาหาร จึงเป็นเพียงคำแอบอ้างที่ปราศจากพื้นฐานแห่งความจริง

เป็นการกล่าวอ้างของผู้ที่อยากจะกินแต่ฝ่ายเดียว สัตว์ทั้งหลายนั้น พวกเขาได้ร้องบอกเราแล้วว่าเขาไม่ต้องการที่จะมาเป็นอาหารของเราด้วยการแสดงอาการบอกกล่าว แต่เราไม่ใส่ใจจะรับรู้นั่นเอง

เพราะอันว่าความจริงนั้นย่อมเข้าใจง่ายเมื่อเราได้พบเห็น

ทั้งนี้หลังจากที่เราเข้าใจและรู้ความเป็นจริงถึงความทุกข์ยากของพวกเขาแล้ว เราจะทำอย่างไร จะเปลี่ยนแปลงตนเองอย่างไร จะเปลี่ยนความคิดความต้องการของตนเองอย่างไร

เช่นนี้ย่อมสุดแท้แต่ความมีเมตตาธรรมของคนผู้นั้นเองว่ามีมากน้อยปานใดครับ
