Everyone loves a puppy. They're cute, cuddly, fresh, and fun.

But eventually, puppies grow up, the newness wears off, and then you come to realize that having a dog is a responsibility.

Once you've already brought a dog into your home, that is NOT the time to ask yourself if you're really up for it or not.

When you bring a dog into your life, you will be responsible for the following:

* Proving a safe home
* Regular feedings
* Making sure he has clean water
* Socializing & training
* Routine health checkups/sick visits
* Grooming
* Play & exercising
* Cleaning up after him
* and most of all unconditionally loving for his lifetime

All of these responsibilities will happen every day and every year for the duration of your dog's life.

And in return, your dog will provide you with unwavering loyalty, unconditional love, companionship, pure joy, and a sense of purpose and dedication.

Dogs are truly a gift, but they are a lifetime responsibility. Even when they're old and gray, and having accidents in the house.

So please think long and hard before adding a dog to your life and really determine whether you are ready for that lifelong commitment.

Because you have a choice in what happens to them, and they don't.

APOLLO

The Greek God of light and healing, this boy was appropriately named with the hopes he will bring those attributes to the life of a disabled individual in need of a canine hero.

This German Shepherd pup was lovingly bred by Rose Sweeney and is being raised by long-time CCSDA puppy raisers Mike and Lori. We couldn’t be more excited for the Peterson family! They have been nothing but patient and stepped up in so many less than idea situations to help us finish training some of our program dogs, and they’ve always dreamed of raising a GSD puppy from start to finish. We know they are going to pour everything into this sassy boy!

Breeding is not for the weak at heart, it is an enormous commitment, takes someone with a huge heart, and can be financially draining. Getting puppies into the right hands is even harder.

I have brought these beautiful little souls into this world, therefore it is my duty to care for and nurture them to be the absolute best they can possibly be. When they leave me they must be loved, cherished and considered part of the family. They are not a throwaway when times get rough, training and socialization are a must, without this, a puppy can be ruined.

All my puppies are placed as pets only, on what is classified by the AKC as "Limited Registration." This means they can participate in Obedience Trials, Field Trials, Endurance Tests, Agility Trials, Earth Dog Tests or Tracking Trials but are NOT eligible to enter Conformation Shows or be used in BREEDING.

I do not make a living from breeding German Shepherds, my commitment is to my dogs and the puppies they produce. All offspring are reared with children, cats, dogs, love, love and more love. We are not a large kennel, therefore, allowing me time to socialize puppies in a family setting, producing intelligent, strong, well-adapted family companions that are loyal and sound.

I do my best to make sure each puppy is a good fit for each individual family. Selecting the proper home for my puppies is a major objective. Although most of offspring have been adopted for companionship and family pets, we have also produced show quality pups that have gone on to become show dogs.
