g number of their own cats needing a new place to live in. And so the cat sanctuary grew. Though they have always wanted a cat sanctuary with a more 'natural' environment, financial limitations meant starting small. Their ultimate dream is to find “furr-ever” homes for all cats in Malaysia (if possible), or if failing to do so, they would make sure that the cats in their care are taken care of in a comfortable and safe environment with a lot of TLC. The sisters’ end goal is to have a large plot of land where the cats can run free and not be confined to a small cage, as is the current situation. During the day, cats would be able to play outside on the grass, basking in the sun, while at night, they would be kept indoors In a comfortable-sized, single-occupancy “cat home” for monitoring purposes. The current policy is for all cats to be spayed/neutered with at least the first vaccination completed before they can be adopted. Volunteers and donations in cash and kind are always welcome

For this year's FURUM charity partner, a familiar face will be returning- the passionate Katzen Cat Sanctuary!

Katzen Cat Sanctuary was established by two cat-loving sisters (Suraya & Shariza) as it's not only their passion and dream to form an animal sanctuary, but also as a way to honor Shariza's fiance, whom shared the same passion as the sisters, but had unfortunately passed away due to a tragic accident.

A safe haven for cats, Katzen believe that all cats- sick or healthy, young or old, deserve a chance to live their lives in peace. Through their compassionate hardwork, Katzen currently has approximatepy 70 cats under their care.

We were invited to attend FURUM 2019 and set up a booth and conduct a short presentation about Katzen.

The costumes, artwork and people were all amazing, coming from all over the world!

Hands down, it was one of the best events we’ve ever been a part of.
So grateful the organisers decided to bring us into this world.

At the end of the second day, the organisers conducted an auction and part of the amount raised were donated to us, a whopping RM 11K+ !!
The biggest donation we’ve ever received thus far.
(Immediately used to pay the vet, by the way).

We thank the organisers for inviting us to FURUM2019.
And look forward to joining them again (pssstt 9 & 10 Dec 2023 😉😘)

We have 4 cats, Cat, Labu, Putih and Lulu. They are all rescued cats. We have been taking care of the cats for a number of years. Labu joined us in 2017 when he fell off a condo resulting in a broken leg, while the rest were surrendered to us from between 2018 to 2021 due to various circumstances. All of these cats are a part of the Katzen family.

They are all suffering from FIP. They began exhibiting various symptoms such as nerve issues, weight loss and fluid accumulation in stomach, and was confirmed at different times by our veterinarian.

Treatment is, of course, required, thus, we are really in need of your help to save them. Any further delays in getting the right treatment could result in fatalities.

We really want to see them recover from this nightmare. We could not thank you enough for all your help. We pray all your kindness be rewarded abundantly by the good Lord.

We took her out of her box so she’ll be able to move (which she does), and there’ll be space for her food and milk. In the box she’ll hang on to the edges to keep her upper body elevated, so we put the teddy ducky (thank you, Ashikin!) so she’ll have something to keep her warm and to keep her upper body elevated. The baby is doing well. Bladder compressed twice daily tho she went on her own yesterday. She has no voice but is still vocal. Eats well on her own. Poops (yeay! The importance of independent pooping cannot be stressed enough). Loves her scratches and head bumps.
