We are sharing the Justice for Kopi campaign to raise awareness and demand change in Malaysia’s stray management. The tragic death of Kopi, a beloved stray dog shot during a culling operation in Besut, highlights the need for humane treatment of animals. We hope this pressures the Local Councils to revise their procedures and prioritize welfare over brutality and let’s urge DVS to enforce the AWA 2015

This isn’t an isolated incident-Kopi’s death reflects a systemic issue. For too long, stray management has relied on inhumane, outdated practices. Malaysia must adopt more compassionate methods like trapping, neutering, and rehabilitating strays, instead of lethal force.

Let’s stand together for real change. Join us in urging the Local Councils to adopt humane strategies for managing strays across the country. Together, we can make a difference for animals like Kopi.

Feel free to copy & paste this caption to your IG feed.

"The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.”

Shooting down defenseless animals, leaving them to suffer and die in agony, isn't just a sign of mismanagement—it’s a heartbreaking act of cruelty. It’s inhumane on every level.

I remember seeing this heartwarming post from about this dog named Kopi. It's that kind of animal therapy post that fills you with a smile, hope, and inspiration. It showed the beauty of animals and all they can teach us, humans and humanity, and how they can CO-EXIST together lovingly.

I still recall the caption: "Hope they stay safe." At the time, I had a strange feeling about it, and now, I understand why.

That safety never came. That innocent dog, Kopi, was brutally shot by the council.

Where does this end? There are more options and humane ways to manage. Please never stand down and voice-up.

There's work to do.

RIP Kopi 🕊💔

TNR Funding Support Needed! 🙏

We’ve set a goal of RM 6000 for this fundraiser, and we need your support to achieve it. Your donations will go directly to covering the following:

🐱 TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) for 10 cats
We urgently need to TNR 10 cats in the Sphere area before management sees them as a problem to local businesses. Each cat costs roughly RM 250-295 to spay/neuter. We're collaborating with to make this happen.
Total: RM 2950

🐱 Support for Lissy, the pregnant cat Lissy has pending vet bills and supply needs. Due to severe anemia and malnutrition, her pregnancy is high-risk. We need to be prepared for any complications that could arise during birth and provide treatment as needed. We also have another TNR cat named Buffy we could not release as she has a luxated elbow and may need further treatment.
Total: RM 1500

🐱 Sponsorship for 7 TNR cats we're rehoming: These include 4 adults and 3 kittens. We’re covering their monthly food and litter expenses, which are about RM 150-170 per cat.
Total: RM 1070

🐱 FIV/FeLV testing and TNR supplies: Testing for new cats like Casper and getting supplies for future TNR efforts.
Total: RM 500

🌏 Other Ways to Help:
If you can't donate, consider fostering a cat or sharing our posts to help find fosters or forever homes for the strays we're rehoming.

🙏 We truly appreciate your trust and support in making this possible. For transparency, all donations and expenses are tracked in a public spreadsheet available in our bio.

✅️ If you donate, please include "TNR" as a reference, and let us know the name you’d like to be listed under.

Thank you in advance for helping me make a difference in the lives of these strays! 🙏🐾

P.S - Why I'm Not Asking My Rescue Team for Help?

As many of you know, I stepped back from active rescue work over a year ago. While I deeply appreciate Allergic Rescuers’ continued support in many other ways, I am no longer an active member. As a team, TNR is also something we each take responsibility for in our own community and areas independently. Resources in the group are saved for group/bigger cases.

FOR ADOPTION / FOSTER

ORANGE
2.5 Months | Male

✅️Neutered ✅️ Vaccinated
✅️ Dewormed ✅️ Deflead

🐱 Personality:
Outgoing, playful, affectionate, brave, curious, sweet

🏠 Type of Home:
Would thrive in a home with another kitten/young cat (up to 2-3 years old) with more active/playful energy, or to be fostered/adopted with one of its siblings to prevent single kitten syndrome. It’s best not to pair this kitten with older, senior, or more introverted cats, as it has plenty of kitten energy and needs a playful companion.

❤️ Health
Excellent health, great appetite, energy, healthy p**p. When we rescued it from mom, it was very well fed, healthy weight and very plump.

📖 Story
This kitten is one of three rescued from a parking lot where their mom, Bella, had been living. After two years of trying to TNR Bella, we finally caught her, and this will be her last litter. The kittens were hiding/ living inside a parked car recently, a very unsafe spot.
Orange, the bravest and most curious of the siblings, was our first catch—traits that continue to shine through in his personality now. He has a brother named Blackey and a sister named Bean.

FOR ADOPTION

BUFFY
1 year | Female

✅️Spayed ✅️ Vaccinated
✅️ - FIV/- FeLV
✅️ Dewormed ✅️ Deflead

🐱 Personality:
Affectionate, friendly, chill, quiet, easygoing, mature, loves humans

🏠 Type of Home:
She’s an introverted cat who prefers her own space and isn’t very social with other cats, so she’d thrive as the only cat. Preferably a calmer space (working professionals, no young baby kids). She loves human companionship and is best suited for a mature, grounded environment, as she can get startled easily. Independent and easygoing, she’s content in small spaces and will happily relax in her bed without fuss..

❤️ Health
She is in excellent health with a great appetite. She has an old injury to her right arm—a luxated elbow—but has been thoroughly assessed by an orthopedic vet. X-rays confirmed that the arm’s angle poses no concerns, and she experiences no pain or discomfort. She has adapted well and uses her arm normally, allowing her to walk, groom, and jump perfectly fine.

📖 Story
I found her under a bridge while doing TNR in the area. When I spotted a new tortoiseshell cat, she ran and hid, clearly skittish. Knowing she was a female, I couldn’t risk her getting away and potentially having kittens. I circled back and found her hiding under a garbage can. Though frightened, she seemed to crave love and trust. After offering some wet food, she ate eagerly and allowed me to pet her. Without a crate, I managed to scruff her and bring her in. She was incredibly quiet and well-behaved, even after her spay surgery. Noticing an injury to her arm, I realized the streets were too dangerous for her, so I decided to give her a chance at a safe, loving home.

Just a random photo up here to get the page active again.

This photo presents how life has been on the other side as we are building a start-up from ground-up, it's not easy task.

We stepped down from rescuing as many know for mental health reasons as well, but feeding strays and occasional TNRs doesn't stop.

And this is why we are getting active again. As the "occasional" TNR is not enough as recently, cat numbers in our neighborhood have suddenly risen 😭

This gives us anxiety, so we realize we need to, no matter what, balance more time out to take care of the neighborhoods.

Otherwise, our burnouts trying to balance life, business, career, relationships, finances, households, our own kids, ourselves and most of our our own strays in our communities and neighborhoods will be 10x worse.

TNR cannot stop. Please take care of your neighborhoods or support those that do ❤️

PS - this photo sums how it's been feeling since 2023 ...
