WORLD DAY FOR LABORATORY ANIMALS
24 April is World Day for Laboratory Animals, an "international day of commemoration" for animals in laboratories.

Most people don’t really give any thought to animals when they buy products for themselves, whether clothes, beauty or cleaning products, medicines, etc., but when you work in animal welfare, it most likely becomes second nature to make ethical choices, especially when it involves animals. Cruelty is not only physical abuse and unknowingly you might be cruel to animals by supporting certain practices, products, or industries. Today we will focus on the medical and beauty industry with regards to animal testing.

We are in dire need of artificial grass.🙏

Thank you from all our fur friends for everyones' contribution. Without you all, this would not have been possible. We are grateful for our 3 amazing vets. Dr Arsenio Muchongo, Dr Natalyn Magaia and our visiting vet, Dr Julz Roeloffze. The dedication these 3 vets showed was beyond words.
Long hours, quick munch in between 9 hours of intense operations. Working with minimal resources, we applaud your work and thank you!!

Meet Lassie.
Lassie was severely abused and malnourished. We confiscated her and took her to a place of safety. Unfortunately this didn't work out but Sandy, with her fur children, Cyan and Digger, kindly let her in to their home. Watch this space to see her road to recovery. She is already a much happier dog. We will update as she progresses.

52 animals treated. 26 sterilizations.

35 animals treated, 6 sterilizations
More than 20 of the animals treated on Sunday were already sterilized.
Monday we went to a home and dewormed 10 puppies and confiscated a dog in apauling condition and put it in foster care. She was treated and given food etc. We will build her back to good health and find her fur-ever home.

So in total an amount of 98 animals treated of which 32 were sterilized.

Wild cats were trapped, treated, sterilized and returned.
