A new year is a perfect time to add a passion project, that is highly rewarding and impactful.
We at the SPCA Walvis bay, are seeking passionate committee members that can assist in the running of the shelter. The proposed roles are meant to serve as a guideline, and roles can be tweaked when new members come on board.

What does Have a Heart Walvis Bay do?
Have a Heart is saving lives by sterilising cats and dogs of people with a low or no income.
Because being poor shouldn't be the reason why beloved pets keep producing more and more puppies or kittens that have no chance for a loving forever home.
We also trap-neuter-return cats who have no home. This stops the cats from multiplying, but they will still kill rats and mice.

BLOMMETJIE HAS FOUND HER FOREVER FAMILY...

For the past 7 years, Blommetjie has been fed, love and cared for by Irene Van Dyk and the fantastic Feed a Paw Family in Henties Bay, as she came from a no income family.

When Irene noticed that Blommetjie had growths developing on her tummy, she advised the owners to take her for a vet check. Their response to having to do this, was rather to end Blommies life and use her on the dog meat market (which sadly, is a very real & true fate for many dogs)

Irene managed to convince the owners to rather give Blommetjie to her, together with 2 other dogs (Maria & Brownie who are still with as at the SPCA), that were destined to travel the same path.

Blommetjie was booked in with the vet, Dr Winterbach, when he visited Henties Bay, and Irene organised for her growths to be checked & removed. She was given a clean bill of health and we have been working hard make her future brighter!

During the wonderful Western Dog Fasion Show at the SPCA Henties Bay, all our SPCA dogs had an opportunity to walk the "catwalk", to meet our supporters & visitors.

It was here that Blommetjie captured Nadine's heart...

Nadine is a very special lady, with an incredible touch & amazing knowledge, that she uses to help our SPCA rescue dogs, as many are in great need of trust and confidence in people. Blommetjie was not very trusting of people when she arrived, but she bonded with Nadine at first glance!

Blommetjie has been blessed with Nadine as her new Mum and her future is as bright as Namibia sunrise! Congratulations Blom, and thank you with all our hearts Nadine, for all you do for us and for changing so many lives! You are absolutely wonderful!

RESCUED SISTER & BROTHER PUPS, HAVE BOTH BEEN BLESSED THIS SEASON, WITH FANTASTIC FAMILIES!

Rescued by Feed a Paw from awful living conditions, both pups have now found their forever people and have been adopted, we are so incredibly grateful!

Little girl Tally, now lovingly called "Layla" by her new family, has had a truly blessed Christmas season and will never experience suffering again. When she arrived with us, her eyes were milky and she could barely see, she was a little bag of bones and she was suffering from malnutrition & a parasite overload. Fortunately, these will never be part of her life again!

Brave boy Tamesh is now affectionately named "Blacky" and we are absolutely overjoyed that he found Oli! He too, will be loved and properly looked after forever more!

Thank you with all our hearts, for giving such bright futures to these rescue pups, we know they will bring you all, everlasting joy!
