The horse from Benhur is doing fine. The wound is healing nicely, but it still will take time to recover fully. His appetite is still good, a lot of eating to get a good condition. Luckily we have the Lucerne bales, a lot of grass and Equimaster muesli.

He made it to Gobabis Animal Rescue. Thank you Droogtehulp (Henriette Le Grange) for organizing the transport and the 15 bales of Lucerne. Welmie thank you for making time to get him from Benhur. The wound on his neck is the worst. We cleaned it and injected some antibiotic. This will happen now twice a day. His appetite is good and he has a friendly personality. Unfortunately he is not having a name. So anyone who wants to name him is welcome. We also like to thank everybody who was willing to help with the horse.

We please need some help to transport this horse to GAR in Gobabis. The horse is standing on the D1700.

This is Us!

Gobabis Animal Rescue is a private animal welfare organization that was established in 2017. We consist of a small yet ambitious group of people who try their best with little resources. Our aim is to protect animals, prevent animal abuse and to generally improve living conditions for all kinds of animals. Furthermore, we try to educate the public about the responsibility each and everyone of us carries regarding the wellbeing of animals and the protection our environment. Depending on our finansial situation, we try to organize yearly spay- and neuter- days that offer neutering free of charge for pets that belong to lower income households. Through this we hope to reduce the number of homeless and hungry animals roaming the streets of Gobabis. Moreover, we take care of hurt and abused animals and try to find loving homes for each rescue.

Gobabis Animal Rescue is `n private diereliefdadigheidsorganisasie, gestig gedurende 2017. Ons doel is om alle diere te beskerm, dieremishandeling te voorkom en die lewensomstandighede van diere te verbeter. Verder wil ons bewusmaking en opvoeding in die publiek bevorder aangaande die mensdom se verantwoordelikheid teenoor diere en die natuur. Ons poog om jaarliks, soos finansies dit toelaat, dae te reël waarop troeteldiere van landsburgers uit die lae inkomstegroep gratis gesteriliseer en gekastreer word, om sodoende die groot populasie van rondloperdiere te verminder. Ons ontferm ons oor mishandelde en weggooidiere, versorg en behandel hulle, en probeer daarna vir elkeen `n liefdevolle eienaar vind. Alhoewel ons nog lank nie al ons doelwitte bereik het nie, en geduldig moet wag vir prosedures buite ons beheer om in plek te kom, gaan ons voort om `n verskil te probeer maak. Die meeste lede van Gobabis Animal Rescue het magtiging van die Ministerie van Justisie in Namibia om te werk onder die Dierebeskermingswet nr. 71 van 1962.
