Meet Jack and Ruben 🐶

This dynamic duo of good boys are in need of a loving home ❤️

Ruben is a fun-loving large breed mix with good social skills with other dogs and is well equipped with the necessary personality and skills to be around dogs of any age. He sure is a character who loves to dance for his food and beg for attention.

Jack is a small drill sergeant that likes to keep his environment in check and other dogs on their toes as they play. He might require a day or two to warm up to you, but once he is familiar with his new humans and surroundings he becomes a little lovebug. Jack is also good with dogs of all shapes and sizes.

About Jack and Ruben:

- Both are neutered
- Neither are good with cats
- Both are in good health
- Both have a clean dog criminal record
- Preferably not separated during adoption process.
- If separated during adoption process so be it, home alone is better than united under a temporary solution.

Why is puppy socialization important?

A well-socialized puppy is a well-behaved, relaxed, and reliable future adult dog 🐶

If your puppy is exposed to a wide variety of situations such as:

- Other dogs and puppies of all shapes and sizes 🐕🐩🦮🐕‍🦺

- Handled by people of various ages and ethnicities 👥

You will be doing your part as a responsible pet owner by moulding and shaping your puppy's most important experiences ‼️

This will result in your puppy having a good first impression of the world and therefore is less likely to suffer from anxious or fearful behaviour. Your dog will also be less likely to behave unpredictably in a dangerous or unfamiliar situation.

If you isolate your puppy within its first 3-12 months and only then try and socialize your dog during adolescence, it will be a very difficult or even impossible task.

There is no better place to socialize your puppy than at Windhoek Pet Lodge because your pup will be placed in a pack of other well-socialized dogs who will guide and discipline your puppy, helping them become well-adapted.

Our Story

Dog Hotel, Boarding facility for dogs. Dogs are even more social than humans. A dog finds identity and sense of being in a pack. It is unnatural for a dog to be without a pack for days on end and this can lead to numerous behavioral issues. Windhoek Pet lodge is not just a safe and comfortable boarding facility but dogs love it here and in most cases go crazy if they get close to our facility because what a dog need we provide.

At night each families dog(s) get their own indoors sleeping room (no fighting about food or beds possible when unattended during the night hours). Rooms have air conditioning/heating with state of the art fire detection and warning system. During daytime snake proof play yards with swimming pools to spend the day socializing with other dogs. We even have grass lawns and paving to protect the dogs from dust causing health problems and swimming pools to cool down! The soil and grass is kept wet at great expense to provide a cool surface to lay on caused by evaporative cooling in our dry climate.

Management and staff being on the premises 24 hours to be the leader of the pack and keeping the dogs company, under control and safe. CCTV ensure all information we need (when not there to witness the action) is recorded and can be used later on to create a safer environment for the dogs. We keep a database of all our boarding dogs specific character traits and temperament which we use to make it safer when we do the grouping of the dogs in the play yards and for going out into the field camp.

We have a Huge field camp where dogs get taken out twice a day off leash to run free under our supervision. There we cycle, play and walk with them.
