International Dog Day is about celebrating the bond between humans and dogs, while also raising awareness about the importance of dog ownership and animal welfare. It is a day to acknowledge the contributions that dogs make to the society, from services such as therapy and assistance, to search and rescue operations, to protection/security such as police or military dogs. On this day, we also honour the tireless efforts of Canine organizations, who work hard every day to ensure the well-being of dogs. We recognize their commitment to promoting responsible dog ownership. As responsible dog owners, it is our duty to provide a safe and loving environment for our furry friends. We must ensure they receive proper nutrition, healthcare, training, socialisation and exercise. We should also educate ourselves and others about responsible pet ownership. Additionally, International Dog Day is an opportunity to raise awareness about the issue of dog cruelty and promote responsible dog ownership. We must unite to fight against all forms of animal abuse and work towards creating a society in which no human, no dog or any other animal suffers needlessly.
