New food order must be made in order to get food in time.
We must order quantity that is enough for 3 weeks (3x900e).

🐶 124 dogs
🐱14 cats
All of them have been saved from horrific ordeals and all of them have experienced how it is to be starved
🐶🐱 we feed stray animals and we help people who feed stray animals. For those animals we are the only source of food

🐶Basic food is dry food which we mix with wet food, bread, rice, salami and vitamins
🐶Also, there are many oldies that can't eat dry food at all due to problems with teeth.
🐶There are also many animals with chronic conditions such as demodex, lungs or gastrointestinal problems and they eat special vet food which is awfully expensive.
🐶When all calculations are done and average quantity and price are calculated, I need at least 80 kg of food every day. Weekly food order costs about 900e with new decreased prices and depending on consumption
🐱 Food preparing and feeding of animals are the most important daily activities. All animals have different meals, which depends on their size, age, health, special needs, etc., and that is why we need so many different sorts of foods and why it takes time to feed all the animals
🐱Imagine having a responsibility to provide at least 80 kg of food for 140 live beings every day.

🐱 When you look at our rescues, you see how well they look like. They are all well fed, in good shape, their hair is shiny 💙

Weather conditions are freezing these days 🥶 low temperatures are huge challenge not only for maintaining of the shelter but for health of animals as well

The work has been doubled due to weather conditions at the shelter.
❄️ straw is changed almost daily because after playing animals go into their kennels and it gets wet so we must change it almost daily
❄️ water must be changed constantly because it gets frozen
❄️ animals eat twice a day because food is an essential for keeping them warm
❄️ we use more supplements and vitamins to help those with chronic conditions as well as to boost immunity of all animals
❄️ cleaning of kennels takes more time

🐶🐱 we feed stray animals and we help people who feed stray animals. For those animals we are the only source of food

We must send orders for dry, wet and veterinary food for dogs and cats, and that includes food for stray animals as well for 3 weeks in advance therefore we must constantly have funds for food.
When one big order is delivered, our supplier brings us smaller deliveries because we don’t have enough space to storage food.
Making an order is a complicated thing because I must calculate how much of every food type food we need, fill an order, update it constantly and then organise all deliveries. Since we update an order as we receive funds, it is an exhausting and constant work, and that is why I constantly ask to raise funds faster and in advance.
I also must send food for Garavi and Lucky. They live in the mountain area, which is far away and when it snows. It is impossible to reach and because of that we also must raise funds faster.

Fluffy is one of the dogs that have been saved from illegal public pound thanks to my dear Wonna Hylén
Fluffy was so scared that she didn't want to be outside, she didn't allow to be touched. Look at this now. Fluffy has started going outside and playing with other dogs.

Fluffy had been a victim of abuse before she was saved. That is for sure because she has all symptoms of badly abused dog. We do our best to help her socialise and realise that she is finally safe. Rescuing has many stages and one of the most important stages is recovery process for a rescued dogs. It is unimaginable what horros happen to dogs on the streets and illegal public killing pounds 😔

Dear friends, may I ask for few minutes of your attention to read this 💙🩵🙏

Dear friends, we and you, both are under constant pressure to keep up with deadlines and costs, on which lives literally depend. When we don’t reach goals animals can’t get food, vet care, medications, straw or other essentials. Also, running the shelter means that there is a constant need for repairs and maintenance.
Being without transport, emergency fund to act if emergency happens, constantly being on the brink of not having food, meds and vet services, and with daily huge logistical problems are all life threatening situations for our animals and for us to continue to care for all animals who call our shelter home. Let’s go ahead deadlines at least a bit, let’s stabilise situation at least a bit.

We rescue horribly abused animals, treat them and provide shelter. Countless animals owe their lives to our efforts and your help.

The situation for animals in Bosnia and Herzegovina is worse than ever: fewer adoptions, more abandonment and abuse, less food and not enough shelter, and constant inflation.
Animals are struggling as you read this and suffering badly!

We are struggling to cope with the soaring number of animals in our care and the ever-declining rate of donations and adoptions. It is a desperate situation, and we now face the very real possibility of not being able to continue to take care of animals. This would be a DISASTER for the animals in our care!

To make matters worse, many of the animals who we rescue and we have rescued are in desperate need of medical attention. Their health may be ignored; many come in with long-standing issues that require expensive treatment or multiple surgeries. They have been neglected, abused and starved. They need so much care.
Without help, so many animals might well find themselves in danger of being without food, care and the shelter.

My intention is to set up an emergency fund for stockpiling food and medications as well as basic things for animals, as well as emergency vet fund. We can’t continue our work without taking these steps so please join us. This is absolutely critical and we don’t have time to wait

As a lawyer, I deal with legal protection of animals, which means reporting cases of abuse and killing of animals, lobbying authorities to implement Act on Protection and Welfare of Animals, reporting all types of misconduct and criminal offences that our authorities commit such as illegal killing and torture of animals in public shelter, forcing inspections, police and prosecutor’s offices to investigate such cases.

My very public work has brought me many problems including constant harassment, attacks and campaigns against me.

I am focused on animals that I save as well as you
all other animals and such wide activism is something that is very unusual for Bosnia

Being present in media and speaking up against authorities has made me their target and I have gone through all sorts of harassment, attacks and smear campaigns

Why do Bosnian animals need your help?

1) You will save a life. Sadly, Bosnian strays do not have the backing of large charities, and they depend on small rescue groups. So, you will be the sole chance for helping dogs.

2) You will help prevent the vicious dog business/war against the Bosnian authorities (they claim 250 euros for capturing and killing a dog despite an excellent animal welfare legislation. They break their own laws.)

3) Despite that very same strict and good Act on Protection and Welfare of Animals, Bosnian public pounds are far from high standards, and dogs are crammed in kennels and starved to death.

4) Having gone through such a hard life and ill treatment, many dogs are injured, sick or traumatised and rescuers need all possible help to help them recover. Since rescuers don't have any other source of fundraising, only your help saves lives of stray animals in Bosnia.

5) You will raise awareness to the corruption and ill treatment of dogs in Bosnia, which can lead to members of your family or friends supporting or adopting the strays.

6) Bosnian public pound and stray dogs are not humanely euthanised, but are often killed by beating them to death, or simply starving them despite the fact that killing of animals and euthanasia are criminal offenses in Bosnia. Also, many stray dogs are abused, tortured and killed on the streets.

You will feel better knowing that you have saved your animal from the hands of barbarians.

Cookie is just one of dozens of animals that we have saved from terrible abuse/injuries/diseases. She has recovered from a spinal injury and an amputation.
Taking care of animals isn’t just about feeding and cleaning them, it is a complex system of care.
It is very important to provide a personalised care for each one of rescues, which means that every rescue gets care in accordance with its needs and specifics. All rescues have been saved from different circumstances and not only that taking care depends on their size or hair or weight, it also depends on their general health condition and their background story. Every rescued animal is an individual with different needs and specifics and we carefully adapt care, food, exercise, vet care to their needs and personalities. It takes commitment and hard work but when you see our rescues, you see results of such approach

It is a common belief that disabled animals can’t have a normal and happy life, which is a huge untrue. Disabled animals, animals with chronic health issues, oldies, they all can have a happy life, and they are always full of life, and they are often even more playful than other animals. The most important thing is to recognise requirements of their conditions, to provide them necessary care and treatments, and to let them live. They are very adjustable and they deserve every chance 💙

As you know my mum has been seriously injured and she is currently recovering in silence. She doesn’t have mobility in all fingers and her recovery process will be a long one and she needs all our support. Despite her injuries, she must get up and supervise workers every day.

My mum was bitten by Candy while Cupa was having an epileptic seizure. Long story short: part of her hand is ripped.
Our worker does hard work such as cleaning, but he doesn’t feed animals. We have hired the second worker who is experienced with animals

Dear friends, as you could see we had a situation last night. We managed to finally get food for the donkey and the horse and pay foster for kittens, but with some consequences. I must seriously post about consequences for animals. In order to provide everything that animals need full amounts must be raised within deadlines, and without delays. No one here has a magical wand to organise things in a minute. Everything must be organised and prepared within deadlines. I have an organisation system that can’t handle changes. There is an example. We didn’t raise funds for the donkey and the horse within the deadline and it started snowing. I posted a lot about the mountain where those animals were. This is one of the cruelest areas in Bosnia. When it heavily snows, there is no access to area and no one drives there. Since we didn’t raise funds within the deadline, I couldn’t find transport until this morning. I had to pay for pick up to drive food and they had an accident. Food has just arrived to the destination therefore Lucky, Garavi and animals that live there will have food. However, I had extra costs for transport, people who drove it had an accident and if they hadn’t accepted to drive food, animals wouldn’t have anything to eat. I can’t organise things in the last minute or after deadlines. I have my mum, work and so many other things and the most important thing is that if things aren’t bought in time, animals won’t have food, vet care, medications, and other essentials so please understand that we can’t deal with instability and uncertainty
