Regarding the situation at the shelter, despite freezing weather, animals are fine and it is only possible thanks to providing essentials with your help, and endless 24/7 work. Keeping animals warm is a huge and responsible task 🥶💙

Let’s not allow for them to be forgotten animals. These are the most heartbreaking scenes for rescuers 🥺 please let’s provide more food for strays

It is freezing and snowing outside and strays are suffering 🥶 imagine how it is for so many stray animals that wander around looking for scraps of food. We are their hope. Food is the only thing that can keep them warmer.

There are strays that we feed every day, there are strays that we see sometimes and then we feed them, because they move constantly for different reasons. Imagine how it is for all those poor animals outside that constantly wander and need help and food. We do our best to give them food or help at least to make some kind of prevention.

If you want specially contribute to our activities to help as many stray animals as possible, this is a special action to do that
There are so many animals in need, requests to help, and I am constantly heartbroken because I can’t take them all and help them all. It breaks person apart 😭 so I must admit that I often help people who feed strays, give them food and medications. There are so many sick and hungry animals here. Although I don’t share sad stories often, at this moment I am trying to figure out how to help these dogs and catch them. Also, all supporters who help, can specifically help not only to our rescued animals but to all stray animals that we help

One of absolute priorities for raising funds is Pasa because his treatments are going to until the of the month and I must buy injections that are part of his the second part of therapies, and also all medications must be bought ahead 🙏 so please let’s make this for this big boy 🐼 he is doing better.

We must keep moving forward with raising funds and without additional visits of vets, and additional injections, costs are higher than 20e per day, but we can’t raise funds day by day. I must pay his medications and vets in total

There are still some days when he has problems with constipation and vets have done procedures but those are additional costs as well
January since he is going to be treated during the whole month. In order to get medications for the whole period of time, we need to raise funds for Pasa.
Pasa is reacting well to his therapies. His mobility has improved, pain has been decreased and he has pooped. Vets are visiting him daily in order to control his condition.
However, Pasa will need your continued support during coming month since he is getting a lot of medications, a day of his treatments costs 20e averagely since he is getting
- painkillers
- two types of antibiotics
- special nutrition
- infusions
- supportive therapies
- constipation therapies
- daily vet visits
These costs must be paid and medications must be provided as he is going to be treated for a month. Also, he will need funds for checks and additional medications that will be added to his therapies

Regarding his spine, he suffers from Discospondylitis, which is a bacterial or fungal infection of the intervertebral disks and the adjacent vertebral bones, and it is fully treatable.
Basically, as the infection is being treated, his disks will be better and that symptom will be disappearing. It will take about a month to take the infection, and multiple antibiotics are needed. Constipation is also constantly being treated.
Due to his infection, he suffers from anaemia therefore Pasa is going to get many supportive treatments.

How can you help to reduce Dalidas stress? Of course the most important thing for a rescuer is enough money to take care of the animals; to feed them and to give them the medical care they need and a warm and safe place to stay.

Sorry to say, but it is all about money… 😢

Other things you can do is to make more people aware of the work of Dalida by inviting people to the group Dalida Kozlic - animal rights activist and rescuer and to this page of Usko's Nest Dog Shelter and to share as much posts as possible from this page.

As you’ve read in former post, Dalida is not well at all… 😔

Many of those animals couldn’t walk or stand when they were rescued due to conditions in which they were 🥺 however, your help, and our care have resulted in recovery for all of them, but our work doesn’t stop there. We must provide not only daily essentials for them such as food, but many of them need treatments because ordeals have left consequences

One of the biggest challenges is food. The first reason is that prices have been doubled, but also, we don’t have a permanent supplier at the moment therefore our orders must be constantly sent in order to actually get food in time. There is an announcement of new increase of prices and due to cold weather consumption has been increased.

We must never be in a position of not having food for our animals.

🐶🐱I have 130 dogs and 10 cats
🐶Basic food is dry food which isn't good generally so we mix it with wet food, bread, rice, salami and vitamins
🐶Also, there are many oldies that can't eat dry food at all due to problems with teeth.
🐶There are also many animals with chronic conditions such as demodex, lungs or gastrointestinal problems and they eat special vet food which is awfully expensive.
🐶When all calculations are done and average quantity and price are calculated, I need at least 80 kg of food every day. Weekly food order costs about 900e to 950e with new increased prices and depending on consumption
🐱Imagine having a responsibility to provide at least 80 kg of food for 140 live beings every day. When you look at our rescues, you see how well they look like. They are all well fed, in good shape, their hair is shiny 💙 also, we feed stray animals so food for them is also part of these orders

Balkan Winters are cruel, and it is always challenging when they start 🥶☃️ after so much fog, smog, and changeable weather, animals well many dogs enjoy playing in the snow, but it freezing and it is difficult for us and animals. The most difficult situation is for oldies and animals with arthritis. Also, imagine how it is for stray animals. Since temperatures are going to be lower and lower in coming days with need all possible help for our animals and stray animals as well

Snow and freezing temperatures are coming here in coming days 🥶 thanks to match fund challenges we survived December, but time has come to raise funds for January. Our costs are huge and freezing weather is going to cause more emergencies. If we end up in another crisis in January, we won’t be able to get out of it and protect animals

🥶 We need more food. Prices are high and delivers are unstable. We have increased food portions, and we add more wet food to dry food when it is cold. Food is essential for keeping animals warm. Also, many stray animals get food from us. Imagine how it is for them in freezing conditions
🥶 we use more vitamins and supplements, not only for oldies but also for all animals
🥶 we use more straw, blankets and beds to keep animals warmer in kennels
🥶 since Garavi is in a mountain area, he needs bigger food orders because roads are blocked when it snows
