After more then 27 years of snake keeping (24 years taking care of Cornsnakes) and a lot of changes, up and downs, it is still great to speak and discuss about everything that has to do with keeping snakes. I was pleasantly surprised when these pipped!
The pair was actually a tryout out of curiosity;
Striped Bloodred het. Charcoal, Hypo X Sunrise Amel het. Motley poss het. Cherry
All from this clutch are very red but a few stand out like the two pictured.
Can’t wait to see how these develop!

This project is turning out quite interesting..
Two years ago i bred a funky looking Hypo Striped Pewter from a Pair of Bloodreds het. Charcoal, Lava, Hypo and Striped.
It looked totally different then all other Hypo Striped Pewters from that line and other lines.
First picture is of him as a juvenile and second and third pic is him now.
I suspected him to be at least het. Lava.
This year i bred him back to his mother.
I got three very different looking Striped Pewters from the clutch which i suspect to be homozygous Lava too..
Pic 4&5 are two of them, the one i posted earlier with the big eye (which looks perfectly normal now..) is the third.
This will be fun to further test.
One of the questions i have now is as follows:
*Are pitch black Pewter eyes dominant over Ruby Red Lava eyes?
So far i see ruby red pupils like papa had when he was young too.

I’m pretty sure this one is a Lava Striped Pewter, let’s see what happens after it’s shed..
It seems active but I won’t let it suffer 😔
