Working with Salvador and Kelpie together has been a goal of mine since the very start of Kelpie's journey. To make that possible, though, Kelpie first needed a solid foundation. 📚 With Salvador I worked a lot on his resource guarding, which can turn into a real problem when you want to work with two horses at the same time. 🫣 It took about a year before I felt comfortable training them side by side, but the patience paid off. 🤝🏼 Now, they’re incredibly polite with each other and truly work together, which is amazing to see!

It took less time than I expected to work out the massive knot in Maeve her mane. She was curious and open to communication throughout. 🩷 So far, we’ve focused mainly on helping her give consent to being touched and brushed, because she is still very hesitant and cautious around us. Slowly but surely, we integrated her into the herd, which accepted her surprisingly quickly. She fits in beautifully.

I'm so proud of my boys! 💙 With music, a crowd, and even a bouncy house right next to the arena, they both handled everything like pros. Kelpie's show debut was an absolute success!

Have you ever seen a video of how they load a wild mustang onto a trailer — fencing off all the exits? 🫣 That’s basically how we picked up the newest addition to our herd yesterday. Meet Maeve, an untouched four-year-old mare.

I was looking for a project to gain more experience from, and I have a feeling Maeve is going to teach me a lot! 🙈 She’s spent her life in a herd and is fully green. After we brought her home, I removed her halter and let her settle into a section of the paddock we’d closed off because of the muddy path leading to it. Since then, I haven’t been able to touch her again. She’s curious but was very overwhelmed by everything, which is totally understandable. For now, I’m giving her the time she needs to adjust before slowly introducing her to the the herd. She can already see them, and they’re all quite interested in each other. ❤️ I’m so glad I found her, and I can’t wait to see how we grow throughout this journey. Welcome Maeve!

Sadly, Apollo has returned to his previous owner. Salvador was extremely protective of the herd, and Apollo was not welcomed by him at all. It was clear they were not a good match. I had my suspicions due to his strong stallion-like behavior he was either a cryptorchid gelding or badly castrated, so I had a blood test done to confirm them.

The blood test confirmed that Apollo's testosterone levels are abnormally high. For context, a mare's testosterone levels are typically below 0.2, a gelding's levels fall between 0.2 and 1, and a stallion’s levels are above 1. Apollo scored a 10.3.

Because he was sold to me as a gelding—which he is clearly not—the previous owner has agreed to reverse the sale. I'm heartbroken. I would have loved to work more with him, but I know this is the right decision.

It's been a bit quiet lately, but that's because the horses have had more important things to focus on than playing with me. 🙈 We recently integrated Rán into the herd, and on top of that, a few days ago we welcomed a new addition to the family—Apollo! 🩶 Apollo hasn’t been integrated into the herd yet. They can see and smell each other, and the others are quite curious about him. Salvador, however, is still a bit cautious. 😅 With so much going on, it's no surprise that playing with me isn’t their top priority right now. Here are a few pictures of the horses from the past few days, plus a bonus picture of Jasper, my boyfriend, together with Kelpie!

What an absolutely thrilling and nail-biting race! 🤩 We were in a fierce battle, trading fastest times throughout the heats and pushing our limits at every turn. 🙈 I'm incredibly proud to say we finished in second place with Fearless! Salvador was amazing—this time, we were perfectly in sync (unlike the first competition of the year where we had a few minor disagreements about the pace 🤪) Now, we’ve really figured it out and made significant progress! Even when switching from the high-speed run with Fearless to a slower pace with Dauntless, I barely had to touch the rope. Salvador played the game with us! Today marks six amazing years with Jasper! 💚 Swipe to see some of our first horseboarding competitions together. I'm so happy to have found a sport that lets me share my love of horses with my boyfriend. After an incredibly successful camp at , we're thrilled to announce that we'll be competing again this year! 🏁 Go Team Fearless!

Salvador took the spotlight during today's protest to address the issue of Exmoor ponies grazing unsafely in the middle of wolf territory. 🪧 Newborn foals have already gone missing, and horse remains have been found. It is madness to leave the ponies so vulnerable to wolves. 📢 Beyond advocating for this group of ponies, I want to make it clear that I do not support the presence of wolves in the Netherlands. Don't get me wrong, wolves are magnificent animals, but there is simply not enough space in the Netherlands for them in our ecosystem. 💔 Our animals, including these Exmoor ponies, cows, sheep, goats, and horses etc., are falling victim.

It's been a while since we last recorded a riding session, but with all the progress Salvador has made, it felt like the perfect time to show some of it! 💪🏼 He's moving with so much confidence and agility that I really feel like a passenger—just offering suggestions, guiding him, and reinforcing his enthusiasm—rather than having to "help" him find the right posture or movement. ✨ For me, this way of riding is second nature, but I’ve noticed that many riders tend to micromanage their horse’s movements to “help” them. My goal is different—I want Salvador to feel capable and empowered, knowing he can move freely without depending on me. Welcome, Rán! 🤎 The journey from Sweden to the Netherlands was quite an adventure.
