Mijn passies zijn werken met honden en fietsen. Na het overlijden van mijn moeder in 2008 ben ik wakker geworden en begon ik mijzelf te verdiepen in beide onderwerpen. Ik kwam erachter dat het voor mij meer dan leuk is. Mijn fietshobby begon simpel met een oude racefiets, fietste gelijk 20.000 km (halve evenaar) in 15 maanden en ik was verkocht. De hondenhobby ontdekte ik toen een vriend een beagl
e pup nam en ik haar zag opgroeien. Dit interesseerde mij zoveel dat ik met honden uit mijn oude buurt begon te wandelen. Al snel ontdekte ik dat deze honden veel meer konden dan hen was aangeleerd en begon ik de wisselwerking te zien tussen hond en eigenaar. Ik merkte op dat heel veel hondeneigenaren hun hond niet goed aansturen. Ik vroeg mij af waarom mensen zo met hun hond omgaan en begon mij daarin te verdiepen. De psychologie die hierbij komt kijken trok mij zo erg, dat ik mijn professie had gevonden. De honden hebben mij heel veel basisvaardigheden geleerd zoals geduld, doorzettingsvermogen, sociaal zijn, alert en bewust zijn en natuurlijk in het hier en nu zijn. Nog steeds leer ik van de honden, zij kunnen je beste leermeester zijn. Daar ben ik ze ook eeuwig dankbaar voor en geloof ik in de kracht van honden, vandaar de benaming Dog Power Coaching. Het helpen van anderen vind ik een van de mooiste en belangrijkste dingen in het leven. Wanneer ik met honden werk of anderen help met hun hond, staat het belang van de hond altijd voorop!

Ο Νάτσο είχε δυσκολίες με γάτες και σκύλους.
Ήταν ανασφαλής και ήθελε να τους επιτεθεί.
Τους έδειξα κάποια βασικά τιπς για τις βόλτες.
Μόλις κιόλας από την πρώτη μας βόλτα άρχισε να τα αγνοεί.
Ο ιδιοκτήτης με τον σκύλο του ήρθαν πολύ πιο κοντά ο ένας με τον άλλον.
Είναι η μεγαλύτερη ικανοποίηση και χαρά μου!!!

Bond (retriever), always in love with Tara!
Coaching for Brúsi and Frodi. They gave Ringo and me a pleasantly warm welcome when we arrived. The owners have a new young cat and the dogs aren't completely used yet. After a proper assessment, I decided that it would be best to let the dogs and cat slowly get used to each others smell, sound and presence (from distance) before allowing them to encounter closely. I look forward to follow and guide the developments!

Welcome to my specialized walking service, King! A calm and confident Pitbull XL male. He's very friendly and gentle with my dog Ringo. He immediately adjusted to Ringo's pace as if he never knew different. I love his personality!
Lucky is always very gentle and sweet with Ringo. If I pet Ringo, he goes to lick Ringo's face softly.
Almas, such a cutie 😍
Ringo, his story wasn't special until I saved him from an unnecessary euthanasia, based on a wrong and unclear diagnosis, within 48 hours after surgery in February this year, at the age of 15 years (now 16). If I did not insist against the clinic, we would never have known if he actually would have made it. But we're here, and even if it would have to be his last breath, it's my honor to accompany him and show him gratitude for his beautiful soul, that appeared in my life out of nowhere. It's one thing to be smiling in the good moments, it's another thing to be there to support in the bad moments.
Tara made a new friend, after an unfortunate period of extreme fear and panic caused by the female husky that bit her in the cheek... It was a big step for Tara, and it also means that the few years of guiding her weren't for nothing. Still we are back at the beginning thanks to that husky...

Almas: from fear and distrust to friendship and unity.
Coaching for Spikey, Indy, Lucky and Djego. Helping the pack to stabilize and enjoy more. A different approach on separation anxiety and reactivity towards other dogs. Ofcourse it wouldn't be complete without my 16 years old dog Ringo 😍
The most beautiful thing to experience during coaching and my ultimate purpose: bringing closer the humans and their beloved pet, to see the mutual trust recover and deploy slowly to the fullest, changing the pet's behavior and emotional state 180 degrees.
Notice the difference in Almas (grey Cane Corso) and the boy in the upper and lower photo: from insecure to comfortable, both in their own pace. Teamwork and communication, it all starts with interpretation.
This was unthinkable for five years, of which even a few years during her rehabilitation process with me. Tara would have started to search for these dogs in an upmost stressful way, instead of picking up smells comfortably as you can see now. She found a new way to enjoy life, with her nose!
After two weeks of walking with Almas, he still needs a treat to put him on the leash. I suspect that he was taken from the street in a rough way at very young age, causing him to be very timid and quickly very afraid by people and dogs. It would be a logical explanation for his behavior and emotion. Fortunately, Almas is only seven months old so there is space to rebuild his confidence and help him to enjoy everything so much more. The most important for him is to feel safe and understood, so that we can stimulate his own initiative.
Life is too short to give up on your wishes and dreams.
Almas, welcome to my specialised walking service. He will receive special attention and guidance for his fears, together with coaching for the owner, so that we can work together in the same direction to provide a proper and safe basis for Almas to rely on in difficult situations.
That lovely pack that always knows to make Tara feel safe in their presence. Many times when Tara reacts to other dogs, it's not because she can't but it's the other owner or dog that failed to comprehend and be compassionate. But when the fear is already being mistaken for agression from the beginning, there is no room for her to be herself or to make positive learning experiences.

Tara made a new friend. Despite her trauma, very quickly she felt comfortable with him. The Samoyed has a great personality and charisma! It's beautiful to see how dogs can understand and help each other.

Assessment for Lucky.
I was asked to evaluate his behavior and emotional state. I saw a very happy, calm and stable dog that reacts positive on his environment. He did not react to reactivity from other dogs outside. I introduced him to Nugget and he liked it so much. In the basis he did everything right. He'll also join my specialized walking service to provide him with sufficient walks. I'm looking forward to walk with Lucky again!

Usually Nugget and Elsie used to bark at each other, when they pass each other in the main hall of their apartment complex. After a succesfull encounter on neutral terrain, I decided to put it to the test to make sure that both owners can pass each other in the main hall, without to have worries about tension or possible escalation between the dogs. Of course my dog Ringo was also there to share the fun.
An incredible achievement for Tara again: being approached by two dogs simultaneously, while we're out with the pack. Note that Tara is on the leash. To go from maximum fear agression to full tolerance on the leash, that is something very special.
This is the first time in the rehabilitation process, where I was able to allow social interaction with another dog with both Bep and Tara together. This is the result of a few years preparations, exercise and endless repetitions, where I had to work first 1-on-1, so I could break the pack behaviour, aside from Tara's fear / trauma. Now, I walk them together with Bully and my dog Ringo in the park (during the recording, the owner of Bond was holding Ringo and Bully). Still we aren't there yet, but we have made amazing progress so far. Looking forward to further progress!!!
Another beautiful coaching session with a wonderful result: founding the basis for the long run, bringing dog and human closer to each other. Instead of being frustrated and kept away from other dogs, enjoying their walks carefree. The owners could not believe it. But most important: acknowledging and respecting Nugget's need to have her own place inside the family, to be more involved when everyone is at home and together. Nugget will also join my 1-on-1 walking service as an extra backbone. To be continued.

The more I work with Tara, the more I see a dog that asks for direction.
Tara and Bep in my walking service. Tara (the dark brown dog) is afraid of other dogs, but she reacts positively to Ringo from the start, without tension. In my opinion, her behavior towards Ringo shows that Tara is able to be guided in her trauma with other dogs. Anxiety within dogs can involve strong emotions that are sometimes not immediately apparent through body language and people tend to look for symptoms rather than the actual cause. Dogs have a soul too.

Angel, een hond die alleen maar wilt volgen en voor 100% gaat, krijgt bij mij de ruimte om het ook 100% goed te doen. Sterker nog, ik zorg ervoor dat zij het 100% goed doet. Dat anderen het anders zien en hun kortzichtige mening opdringen en niet in staat zijn zichzelf boven hun eigen perceptie te plaatsen zoals 90% van de trainers en hondenscholen waaronder gediplomeerd, die alle honden in 1 methode proberen te proppen en daarbij geen rekening houden met de individuele hond is precies wat ik steeds maar tegenkom bij coachings en is precies hetgeen dat mij onderscheid van de rest. Ik ga voor een specifieke benadering op basis van emotie en gedrag. Haters kunnen nog zo laag of hoog springen wat zij willen, ik weet waar ik voor sta en laat mij niet gekmaken door kritiek van anderen die niet de moeite willen nemen zich in mij te verdiepen en mij volledig te begrijpen voordat zij tot deze uitingen komen. Toch grappig dat mijn klanten alleen maar positief zijn en degenen waar ik niks mee te maken heb negatief. Wie zou het nou beter weten ;)
