Spring run. Perhaps the last run this year in the forest tracks near our kennel. Nanuq, the white dog in wheel, is getting old and this is his last season together with the younger ones. Would love to have him with us next year, but he's not enjoying speed any more. He pulls very good uphill, but is just hanging on when the speed picks up. A trip to the kiropraktor perhaps to loosen tensions and skellet issues, then we will se. He is very motivated, allways, but he's getting older.

De bratteste bakkene.
The steepest hill.
Vår kjære Raggen gikk over til Seppalas spann i går formiddag.
Raggen (Putin of Varg Vass x Luna) 2005-2017.
Our dear Raggen walked over to Seppala Team yesterday morning. We mourn him and honor his memory with this series of images.
From the time we got him in 2011, he has been one of our favorite dogs with his gentle and quiet way of being. He was a super sledge dog and an important member in the team. Only two weeks ago we decided to retire him from training with the other dogs. Unfortunately he was ill and in recent days we saw it on him that something was wrong. Yesterday was the trip to the vet who confirmed renal failure and there was no way out other than to let him go.
We are fortunate to have one of his sons in the kennel and is grateful that at least he has left a legacy to us.
Raggen had a very special place in our hearts, and we wil keep him in our memory.
