Dealing with frustration
Let me just straight away say that I also have had my share frustration through my training.
Remember that frustration is a emotion, when we take decisions out of emotions they are likely never to be as good as a decision.
Train through understanding, not fear.
When we start to get frustrated the best thing we can do is take a break, try to get ourselves back to being grounded. Our communication is not good enough when we are frustrated. Frustration also leads us to have negative energy and emotions, which leads our horses to the defensive side.
with you training your horse while being frustrated, you make your horse frustrated.
To get a grip of our frustration we must control our emotions and thoughts, and we must be certain that we ask the question to our horses the right way. If we are not certain of what we are asking, how can we be certain that the horse will figure out the right answer to it?
Summary to help avoid frustration:
1.Know that your question can be answered with the right answer.
2.Don't have to high expectations
3.Don't make it harder on yourself
4.Don't train on everything at once
5.Control your thoughts and emotions
6.put yourself and your horse up to success
7.go out enjoy your horse, on those days you can't find motivation
8. Search new knowledge towards the things your struggle with or enjoy
9.Dont overdo the workout
10.dont excuse your failures for the day, except them and move on.
Have you ever struggled with frustration?

Attaching good energy ⚡
When we fetch our bridle most horses know what's up. We either go for a ride, go for a training or even do groundwork. One word pops up in mind:
Work.
This is necessarily not a bad word, it all depends on what we do with that word.
Work can be fun, entertaining and most of all motivating for both us and our horses.
Get me right here, work isn't always fun. It can be challenging, and quite a struggle for both our horses and us. But it is what we do the next time we work after we've had such a session.
We always want to get better, and we want our horses to get better, but it is crucial that we remember to make the time for some simple work, and to attach good energy to the things we do.
Relationship is the most
It's important for me to show the example of bad communication and good.
And the line starts with me, and also ends with me.
Its rarely the horse, it's often how we present it to them and how we react to mistakes made.
Horses can feel emotions, energy, body language and can even sense if we are grounded or not.
Ask yourself these questions if something isn't working:
-how am I reacting to mistakes made? Do I get upset or do I just try again.
-are my emotions totally under control?
-is my mind set on here and now?
-is my energy right for this exercise?
-is my body language the same on both sides? Which is my weaker side?
-is my body language clear enough?
Remember there is always something to work on👏
It has been a year with full of changes, great times and hard times.

The last month or so, I've become really excited for the future around horsetraining. I am very lucky to be able to work with such amazing people. I have some really great projects going, that I hope I can introduce to you all very soon.
-
We were up to 65km/h, with boots he runned in for the first time. @cavallohoofboots I think he did awesome! He was also so polite the whole time, buuut I think he really really enjoyed the run. I haven't let him go like this in ages, the reason why? Speed is all awesome, but a horse that can concentrate and go slow and really collect itself.... That is waaay harder.
-
I was very excited but also nervous when I started riding again. Would it be the same with a operated foot? In the beginning it was not, it's starting to get really good again and sometimes I actually forget that my foot was ever broken. I think riding also really helps me rehabilitate myself. So if one of you is currently laying around with an injury, get motivated by this song, and remember your unstoppable!
-
But enjoy the show, remember to turn of the ✈️ mode when you leave😂

Next post is going to be prt 2 of environment training🤩
I love this song, it makes so much sense if you look through it with eyes of a horse that has had a difficult past.

I had a 3h ride with Strong yesterday, and I was a bit torn both ways if I should make this post.
-
I have had not one but many people over the years ask me how I dare riding my race horses in halters, or bareback.. Or both.
-
Pitbulls are dangerous dogs.
Race horses are always stressed.
Drug addicts are criminals.
-
These are unfortunately often used categories.
-
Why do we put things in these categories? How can we have met all race horses? All Pitbulls? All drug addicts?
-
It's these statements that destroy a reputation.
-
For these horses their world shatters, all they have ever done or trained for they will not be doing anymore. It's a huge change. But these horses are often the horses that give the most. Is it a lot of work? Yes. I think mustangs and young green horses are easier to work with then race horses. You have to totally redo their education. Learning something new / learning something another way is something totally different.
-
The statement that 'all race horses are stressed' is also incorrect. Some racehorses are super sensitive, they need alot of support from the rider, they need you to be in the right state of mind too, they don't trust easily. And then you have the racehorses that don't need that much of support, they loose their trust easily but its also easy to rebuild, they are the calm outside meanwhile their could be storms in the inside.
-
I have one of both.🐎
-
Connection is one of the most important thing for these horses. Canter trips and running they can. Training doesn't always need to envolve getting the horses sweat. Training should also be about reconnecting and feeling each others presences without being asked anything.
-
Just because 10 racehorses are in a sirten way doesn't mean that the 11 one is the same.
-
It's so important to understand your horses story- to build on trust, respect and support.
