See many breeders who are hysterical about health tests, that is, they put themselves on a pedestal because they do health tests and consider that if you do that you are an "Ethical breeder".

Here are some of my thoughts on this.
I choose to health test MY breed of dogs, it is my choice and no one has forced me to do this.
I also wish that my puppy buyers also undergo a health test and therefore they can also buy the dogs cheaper from me.

Will give you an example of another race, which is actually bigger than our races 😉
On Corgi (both breeds took the collective name now), in Finland there is a mandatory HD/ED x-ray of the breed.
Everyone probably knows how a Corgi is built, long in the body and strong hind legs. This keeps their hips from looking like a shepherd.
In Finland you lose 50% of the breeding base because you have this requirement, do you realize how many dogs there are?
Do you realize how MANY important dogs there are that can give the breed mass.
Now Sweden wants to do the same, do you understand the panic the race club has?
Do you realize how in Sweden we might lose 50% of the breeding base for Corgi because an idiot thinks you should HD/ED x-ray a breed.
To understand why Corgis get "bad" hips, it's because the hip you're being compared to is a shepherd's hip.
And yes, a German Shepherd and a Corgi are not built the same, even the blind know that 😉
Attached is a picture of a dog that I consider to be a great example of the breed.
IF this dog had C/C hips I would have used it every day of the week.
Never in the world would I NOT have used him.
Because it would be a greater loss for the breed if we produce nice and breed-typical dogs if we did NOT use them.
You have no idea how hip joint defects, ED defects, patella defects and some eye defects are inherited, because if we knew that, no breeds would have problems.
(This male has A/A hips 😉)

There is a saying "You can force a donkey to water, but you can't force it to drink".
With this expression, I would say that IF you want to continue taking health tests, please do so.
But don't force everyone into your things, because everyone thinks in their own way.
Everyone wants the best of the race.
And even if you choose not to cough test, you are actually a serious breeder.

Absolutely, we should think about the health of our breeds, please is not what I'm saying. But we also have to think about our genetic variation.
You have to watch the whole thing❤
