SPRING ALERT!
This is a long one but please take the time to read all the way through!
Grass Seeds are here again. Barley Grass seeds can stick to fur, and, being barbed-shaped, can pass easily through the skin. And they are more common than is generally thought.
They are capable of working their way through your pet's body if they get stuck in the feet, ears, eyes, mouth, or in fact, any part of the outside body.
They can travel relatively quickly through the skin and then the body.
If they enter the abdomen or chest cavities, the effects can be potentially fatal.
In the eye, the barbs cause ulcers, and in the ear they may rupture the ear drum.
Firstly PREVENTION IS IMPORTANT
Examine your pet regularly, check coats, around foot pads and ears, clip fur as short as possible (if breed allows), brush and trim these areas frequently. Make sure you spread their paws and look between the pads well.
Watch for changes in your pets behaviour:
⦁ shaking of the head
⦁ excess licking
⦁ abnormal holes/swelling
⦁ secretions or draining tracts
IF YOU SUSPECT your pet has a barley grass seed in their skin, START treatment asap with our X-PELLER ORAL drops.
X-Peller contains a highly effective homeopathic active which helps the body to push out any foreign body.
One year we suspected our dog had a grass seed embedded in her paw and in trying to extract it, broke it off in her skin. We dosed her four times every 15 minutes with X-PELLER and again a couple of hours later. In the morning we found it had pushed nearly all the way out and we could pull it out completely.
To our surprise we also found SIX MORE seeds halfway out in different parts of her body. 😢
Frightening that we had missed these!
You can avoid expensive surgeries by using this effective method which has the added benefit of being completely non-invasive and painless for the dog.
Keep a bottle on hand this Spring, Summer and Autumn 💯
