It is a very useful tool in the toolbox for overcoming problems you may face. My training philosophy has changed significantly since learning about and using Marker training with positive reinforcement in 2009. From using the traditional training methods - making your horse or dog do what you want it to do, by force, to working in harmony - where the animal is offering the behaviour that you want

. Use clicker training and positive reinforcement to enhance your relationship with your horse, dog, or any pet and create a harmonious way of being and training together with your animals. It’s a great tool in your toolbox to help overcome any problems you may face. It’s a great training method that will overlay any other training method including pressure and release. Watching your animals change from wanting to be left alone to wanting to engage is a joy. Watching owners realise how to develop their communication, where there’s a “win win” and having those “light bulb” moments is priceless. It’s science based training with a successful outcome
Use clicker training to not only overcoming problems you may face but also to enhance the relationship between you and your horse.

Love it!

We are soooo excited to officially share our handout on the Stages of Training. Thank you Doggie Drawings by Lili Chin for bringing this to life! This handout is used for clients to follow their dog's training progress!
It goes through all the stages of learning:
1. Acquisition (get the behavior)
2. Fluency (add the cue)
3. Generalization (proof the behavior)
4. Maintenance (maintain the behavior)

Edit to clarify:
1. This is FREE for you to use/make copies of for clients, but not the edit.
2. “As taught by Jean Donaldson” refers to Push, Stick, Drop

Thanks for all the support! 🐾💙🐾

It’s always good to have lots of positive “tools” in your training tools box. Counter conditioning is one of them! 🐕

BAT is another, and they play well together. I prefer to use CC/DS for sounds and things like trucks that a dog doesn't need to have a nuanced conversation with. BAT is awesome for having a dog learn real social skills. If you really like CC/DS, you can do that first and then finish off with BAT.

I don't know about you, but I don't like every person I meet and dogs don't like every dog they meet. Let's not set up dogs to fail by expecting more from them than we expect of ourselves. - Lori
