"Just wanted to say WOW!! The desk pets were a wonderful motivator for the children! We decided to use the desk pets for a group of children who were struggling with our structured literacy and need extra tuition in this area. They werenโ€™t keen having to do this extra group but when desk pets appeared their motivation increased significantly! When the learners were told that they could keep their pets and take home they were so excited! Some responses were โ€œI love my pet so muchโ€, โ€œitโ€™s fun to earn points to buy somethingโ€, โ€œI love having me pet on my desk while I do phonicsโ€, โ€œit makes me remember my glasses because I want an extra pointโ€, โ€œthey are so cute, I canโ€™t wait to show my mumโ€.
Thanks again for the chance to use this within our classroom.

Desk pets NZ is a newly established, family-owned business in Auckland.

Recently, while browsing through social media, I stumbled upon an American teacher using the 'desk pet' reward system, and I thought to myself, 'Wow, that is so cool! Iโ€™m sure my daughter would love that!' Sure enough, Chloe agreed that she would have absolutely adored a desk pet, and thatโ€™s where our new venture begun!

Understanding the demands of teachers' days, I was inspired to create a full pack for educators nationwide to use in their classrooms with their young learners.
