After growing up around animals of all sorts, it didn’t take much to see that our most loved pets do not get the exercise they need or deserve to stay healthy and active! We understand more than most that the pace of life often detracts from daily and consistent time needed to maintain the healthy life style of our pets. For decades, animal behaviourists have stressed the importance of stimulation
and exercise for animals of every age and size to assure they have the fullest lives possible. Exercise can also cure unwanted behavioural problems in many, such as damaging and aggressive actions caused by a lack of stimulation or anxiety. Pets who are regularly kept in confined or limited areas get bored and often look for destructive ways to entertain themselves. We, at Pet Adventures NZ™ have deep passion for your pets health and happiness. We strive to allow your pets the opportunity to venture forth in a safe and fun environment where they will able to stretch their legs and stimulate their clever minds throughout the day. Regardless of the size of your pet or the weather of the day, we are dedicated to giving them that extra bit of care they need to be at their best. Our mission is to improve the well being of your pets, one pet owner at a time. From one pet lover to another let us give your pets the fun and love they deserve.

Who else is absolutely thrilled to be a dog owner in New Zealand? 🐾 We're truly blessed with a doggy paradise here. Unlike many countries, we can freely swim, hike, and walk our dogs without the worry of dangerous predators or parasites like snakes, spiders, crocs, bears, wolves, lions, leeches, and more. 🌳🦮 Our biggest danger? politicians and councilors! Until the bureaucrats destroy it, cheers to the Kiwi life with our dogs!!
This video alone is why I would never send my dog to an indoor daycare… 😉 #dogsneedtorun #dogsneedtotolietnaturally #dogsneedtorollinbirdpoo
Merry Christmas! 🎅 the Christmas crew is having an absolute blast. #homeawayfromhome . . . #merrychristmas #canines #merry #christmas #christmasdogs #pets #pet #petstagram
This year, we split the team Christmas 'do' into two parts, and it was so much fun! In my opinion, we have the best team in Auckland, and they deserve a great send-off for the Christmas break! We had a blast—good food, lots of laughs, and even some playtime with our dogs. We want to thank everyone who sent in a gift for the team; it truly goes a long way in showing your appreciation. They all loved taking home chocolates, wines, etc., to share with their families during the holidays. Thank you again, and we'll see everyone in the new year (starting from January 14th). #ChristmasDo #Christmas #Team #Dogs #ChristmasFunction #WorkDo #endofyear
An awesome catch up yesterday with our @petadventuresnz clients! Now we are off to catch up with our @trainingschoolfordogs clients followed by our last puppy catch up for the year..#dogs #dogtraining #pets #pet #dog #dogtrainer #adventures #petadventures #newzealand
Coming from an indoor daycare, I think it is fair to say Lilly is an outdoor daycare sort of girl! 😉...#dogs #letthemrun #dog #adventures #settlingin #daycare #stretchherlegs
It seems that everything we do with dogs aims to enable us to live together and have enjoyable moments. Moments like these define our world. Throughout my time in the industry, I have yet to come across a "force-free" or "reward-based only" trainer or walker who can achieve something as simple as dogs coexisting in a pack amidst various distractions, such as people fishing, other unfamiliar dogs, or members of the public. Instead of relying on training tools, leashes, bribes, or suppressing the dogs to the point of insignificance, I believe it's important to observe trainers and walkers who can truly demonstrate their abilities. It has become increasingly evident that many individuals talk about the theories, understand the scientific principles, and possess the right vocabulary, but their actual training or walking practices are subpar. The dogs they work with are out of control, and their mechanical skills are lacking. There is a significant disconnect between what they say and what they do. This reminds me of a quote by Bart Bellon: "They preach water but drink wine in secret." Moving forward, it might be time to challenge individuals to "shut up and show us their dogs." Let their actions speak louder than words, and let the results of their training and walking methods demonstrate their true competence and effectiveness. Regardless of how they train be that with only cookies or if they train with tools and cookies. (In this case the only tools dogs are on is, a long leash.)
🚨 Attention Auckland Dog Owners! 🚨 Are you, or someone you know, getting a new puppy? We seem to have a huge problem on our hands. More owners than ever send their dogs to traditional puppy classes, daycares etc yet we are seeing more behavioral issues (aggression, reactivity etc) in dogs than ever before. Why? because in honesty, the everyday / traditional puppy class and daycare at the least is pretty much pointless, but at its worst causing more issues for you and your dog than it is helping. We had to do something about that. Developing a puppy correctly can save you so much heartache in the future. So forget puppy classes, our 12 week program is going to be too good to miss. Once a week for 12 weeks, you will drop your puppy to us before work and while you're working we will... 🐶 -Socialize the puppy with a balanced pack of dogs 🐶 -Starting building motivation in the puppy 🐶 -Start Developing the puppies play drive 🐶 -Start teaching recall, leash skills, impulse control 🐶 -Starting teaching a communication system that they understand 🐶 -Work on crate training 🐶 -We will also let you know of any signs of behavioral issues that might develop in your puppy and how to curb this and stop it from manifesting into a huge issue. (This alone is huge) 🐶 -and so much more…. Then at the end of the day you will pick your happy and content puppy up from us, but wait this isn’t the end of it. 🐶- You will then be sent a few videos teaching you some basic and very easy exercises that you can practice at home with your puppy and each week we will build on these exercise on top of that… 🐶- Once every 4 weeks we will host a group class just for you and the puppies in the program. In these classes we can answer any question or help solve any specific issues you are having with your new puppy. Come on now this is amazing right? Then after 12 weeks your puppy can graduate from the puppy development program, but that doesn’t have
#peaceout 2022✌️Today was our final pack walk for the year so we all caught up and went for an epic last adventure together.(Unfortunately, Alicia and Stephanie couldn’t join us and Melissa had to stay back to look after the homestays)What an amazing year we have had, offering some of longest and most epic adventures in Auckland. We looking forward to what 2023 has to offer.#merrychristmas #happynewyear #adventures #training #packlife #dogs #dog #hiking #10kmwalk #epic #pets #newyear #dogtraining
Friday getting out with all the homestays, personals, and adventure dogs for one epic adventure… we walk, and walked and had a blast.
How cute is this little girl? She is in for a few weeks to get her started on the right foot. Puppy development is such an awesome thing and I love it so much. Devolve the puppy at this age into the dog you want them to be in the future! (Provided, the puppy you have is genetically able, to be become the dog you want!!) Food for thought for our fellow pack walkers and trainers. Entering a new space. We talk about it all the time, because people just don’t seem to get it 🤷🏽 When entering a new space (we call this crossing a threshold) A huge part of this is actually what the dogs do on the other side in the new space. What they do before they cross the threshold, for me is less important than what they do on the other side, in the new space. I often see videos of walkers, trainers etc showing off threshold work in their videos. And they always go a bit like this… They make the dog wait before exiting and then once the dog gets into the new space 1 of 2 things happens… 1. The video cuts so you don’t see what the dogs do on the other side 2. The video doesn’t cut and then you see the dogs go crazy high when they enter the new space and just bugger off. (Essentially when this happens you loose control of the dogs, even if only for a minute or two) This to me misses so much off what it means to do threshold work, it doesn’t capture the importance of a pack looking to you for direct, rather than just seeing you as the door man… It should be easy, it should flow, they should be tuned in to you and it should not be a huge event. After all, we are simply going into a new space. There is many ways to work dogs that bolt through threshold, the best I find is a longline or e-collar (many roads lead to Rome) Often it’s only one or two dogs within the pack (the adrenaline junkies) and when you identify who they’re, you can then (most of the time) just work those dogs and the rest of the pack settles in… but if you don’t identify who the bolting dogs are, within your pack, well… very quickly two dogs can teach 10 dogs some pretty bad habits!! (This goes for anything we allow within the pack.) Anyway, some food for thought for our fellow pack walkers and trainers! . . . #dogtraining #packsocial #packofdogs #dogs #petsofinstagram
Seeing if I can get little Sirius (the bull terrier) play with us. Not yet, but I think! She will be joining the packs once she passes her 3 day induction.
