To us, dog walking is more than just a job. The dogs we walk become a part of our extended family. We share in the bond of these beautiful souls, which is a heartfelt experience that we treasure.

Let's get the pawty started on a pawfect day.

It's time for me to grab your leash, your collar, and your treats,
And head out for a fun adventure on the streets.

Grabbing your dog and hit the park, explore the trails and trees,
The sights and smells of nature are sure to please.

As the sun sets, head home and curl up in bed,
Snuggling up with your mum or dad, content with a day well-spent.

"Don't be afraid to stand up for your dog"
Walk with confidence - Reactive Dogs Welcome!

Walking reactive dogs can be a challenging but rewarding experience. With proper management, patience and consistency, walking a reactive dog can be a peaceful and enjoyable activity for both the dog and the handler. Alert Message Personalised vests can help. This one was purchased through https://www.roccoandco.nz/visual-aid-vest-collection
We have found this vest very helpful in alerting other dog owners that we are not ready for a meet and greet. We find it aids to educate and inform other dog owners and the public about your dog’s behaviour. This can help to create a safe and positive environment for your dog and help to reduce the stigma associated with reactive and fearful dogs.

Separation anxiety and pent-up energy are two common issues that many dogs face. Here are some tips to help your dog with these issues:

1 Increase Exercise:
One way to help your dog with pent-up energy is to increase their exercise. Take them on longer walks, play fetch with them or take them to a dog park. This will help your dog expend their energy and feel more relaxed.

2 Mental Stimulation:
Mental stimulation is just as important as physical exercise. Consider giving your dog puzzle toys or treat-dispensing toys. These can help keep your dog mentally stimulated and engaged, reducing anxiety.

3 Create a Safe Space:
Create a safe space for your dog that they can retreat to when they feel anxious. This could be a crate, a corner of the room with a comfortable bed, or a quiet room in the house. Make sure this space is comfortable and cozy, and always accessible to your dog.

4 Practice Gradual Separation:
If your dog has separation anxiety, start by gradually increasing the amount of time they spend alone. Start with short periods and gradually increase them over time. This will help your dog get used to being alone and reduce anxiety.

5 Seek Professional Help:
If your dog’s separation anxiety or pent-up energy is severe, consider seeking professional help from a veterinarian or a dog behaviourist. They can provide additional guidance and support to help your dog overcome these issues.

Remember, every dog is different, and what works for one may not work for another. Be patient and consistent in your approach, and your dog will be on their way to feeling more relaxed and happy.

Why walking elderly dogs during summer either early morning or, late evening is important during hot summer days. We cater for their needs during these times.

Heat can be very harmful to elderly dogs, as they are more susceptible to the effects of high temperatures than younger dogs. Some of the potential harms of heat on an elderly dog include:

●Dehydration: Elderly dogs are more likely to become dehydrated in hot weather, which can lead to serious health problems.

●Heatstroke: Elderly dogs are more prone to heatstroke, which can be life-threatening. Signs of heatstroke include excessive panting, drooling, vomiting, diarrhoea, and lethargy Excessive panting and saliva.

●Respiratory distress: Older dogs may have trouble breathing in hot and humid weather, especially if they have underlying respiratory issues.

●Organ damage: High temperatures can cause organ damage, especially in dogs with pre-existing health conditions.

●Joint pain: Elderly dogs may experience increased joint pain and stiffness in hot weather, which can make it difficult for them to move around and stay comfortable.

To prevent these harms, it's important to keep elderly dogs cool and hydrated during hot weather. This can include providing plenty of fresh water, keeping them indoors in air-conditioned environments, avoiding exercise during the hottest parts of the day, and providing cool, shaded areas for them to rest. Additionally, it's important to monitor older dogs closely for signs of heatstroke and seek veterinary care immediately if you suspect they are suffering from this condition.

"Time to enjoy this wonderful warm weather in the safest and most relaxing way possible!"
