I have tried to find the right words to express my feelings about this but the post and comments say it better than I ever could so please read it and don’t believe anything bad you may have heard about cbbr, I have it on good authority that anyone who mistreats or causes genuine fear in their dogs is not associated with Christchurch Bull Breed Rescue. I have also met the owner in question on numerous occasions and the love and respect they have for all their animals is immeasurable and if they were doing something that their dogs genuinely feared they would not do it again.

As pretty as fireworks can be to look at they can also be extremely scary for many of our four legged friends. Petitions have been going around for years advocating for the ban of public firework sales, the only way they will ever be successful is if people sign them. Until then like mentioned in the post below, please do your best to let people around you know if you are going to let fireworks off so they can set up a safe space for their pets

I’ve posted a lot of photos of other people’s dogs so I decided it was high time I made a dedicated post about my family dogs, both past and current 😊 ps. See below for their names and a little bit about them.
Slide 1-3: Dodge (aka Dodgey) our bullmastiff, my parents got Dodge before I was born so he was one the first dogs I grew up with. Due to being so young I don’t have a ton of memories of him but I do remember he loved to be under my trampoline while I was on it
Slide 4-6: Chopa (more commonly known as Choppy) our boxer and one of my best friends. He had his share of issues but he was a good friend to have growing up. I haven’t included them but there are a lot of photos of him and I just chilling together
Slide 7-9: Haylo (also called Bales or puppy) is the current family dog, she’s an interesting mix of dogs and noticeably different to our previous two dogs. She is a Yorkshire terrier x Hungarian puli (dreadlocked dog). Though she may be small and old now, she has always had a fun personality. Her cuddles are one of my favourite things about her.

Just a little appreciation post for some of the feline members of the adventure family with a guest appearance of my special girl (last picture) who lives in Tauranga with my parents. While I run a dog centric company I do love cats as well and do my best to give your cats as much attention as they want while I am picking up or spending time with your dogs.

I don’t share much about my involvement with CBBR but dogs like Taco are why I love my job and my volunteer work. Myself and everyone else at the rescue were over the moon when Taco was officially adopted, we miss her and love her visits but living in a shelter is no life (no matter how much love we gave her) in comparison to her life now

Please help. As a volunteer at Christchurch Bull Breed Rescue I see first hand the love and effort that goes into these dogs and finding them the right forever home, however, this can't happen without the required funds. Obviously there is no expectation or pressure to donate as a lot of people are in the same situation but if you can spare even $1 that would be very appreciated. There is also merch and all sorts of fun things for your dog on the website, money from these purchases goes straight back into the rescue 😊

Tomorrow is the 20th of the month, which means all our accounts are due - vet bills, internet, phone, insurance, fuel etc.
On the 1st our lease is due and as of right now, there’s just not enough there.
It’s been a while since I’ve had to make a plea like this, and I hate it because I know that nearly every single household is also struggling. But if you can spare a coffee or snack today, please consider making a donation for the dogs. If you need some new clothing or goodies, please consider buying something from our online store. It’s dire! Rescues are struggling now more than ever (all rescues, so if you can’t help us, consider helping your local with some donations of things they need).
