✨ My Favorite Thing About Lucy ✨
One of the best things about Lucy is watching her confidence grow since she started coming out with us. She’s grown into her very playful self and I absolutely love the hugs she gives me when I bend down to say hello at pick-up!

🎯 What I’ve Been Working on With Lucy 🎯
Lucy used to struggle with leaving the house, so I’ve been working closely with her owner to build her confidence. At first, I would knock on the door, step back to the end of the driveway, and wait for Lucy’s owner to open the door. Then, I’d toss some treats down and call Lucy to me. She’d run over, and I’d guide her to the van with a handful of treats before lifting her in.

Now? She’s come so far! I can walk right up to the front door, she greets me with a big hug, and instead of hesitating, she’s pulling me up the driveway, so excited to jump in the van for her next adventure!

🌊 Lucy’s Favorite Thing to Do 🌊
If there’s a mud puddle—Lucy will find it! Big or small, she’s happy as long as she can plop right in. Of course, playing with all her friends comes in at a close second!

Jasmyne’s Pawsonality of the Week – Hamish!

✨ My favorite thing about Hamish:
The little bum wiggle and squeal he does when I arrive to pick him up—pure joy in dog form!

🎯 What I’ve been working on with Hamish:
We’ve been focusing on his recall, especially when there are bunnies around (his biggest temptation!). To help him with this, I always treat him at the start of our walk and reward him throughout when he checks in with me, even if I haven’t called him.

🐕 Hamish’s favorite thing to do:
Also known as Casanova, Hamish loves nothing more than chasing rabbits and hanging out with all his girlfriends in Alex and Cromwell on his adventures!

My favorite thing about Billy is how loyal he is to the people he loves and trusts.

🎯 One thing I’ve been working on with Billy
Billy loves to be on “police patrol” in the van, guarding and protecting it when other dogs are getting in. To help him feel more comfortable, we’ve been rewarding him with treats when other dogs enter or popping him up in the front to relax.

🏊‍♂️ Billy’s favorite thing to do
Billy loves life and has so many favorites! This summer he has shown a passion for swimming. After a good swim, he gets the zoomies and runs around like crazy 🤪

❤️ My favorite thing about Marlie
My favorite thing about Marlie is the little squeaks and squeals she gives me when I arrive to pick her up. If you don’t know Marlie, she can be shy and not very confident when she first meets you, but once she gets to know you and trusts you, she is the sweetest little girl ever!

🎯 One thing I’ve been working on with Marlie
One thing I’ve been working on with Marlie is her reactivity toward other dogs and anxiety around new people. We’ve come such a long way with this! She now is able to attend adventures with ease and confidence 😊 Previously to help her with this, we’ve been doing structured training sessions. We start by having dogs / new people stand at a comfortable distance while rewarding Marlie with treats and encouraging sniffing to help her relax. We always make sure we’re working at a distance where she feels safe and is still happily taking treats. Gradually, the triggers move closer while keeping Marlie on a leash and engaging her in sniffing activities. We repeat this process until we make progress, ensuring she never gets too close too quickly to avoid triggering anxiety.

Marlie’s favorite thing to do is run around playing with her brother and be your little shadow on walks—always looking too cute to make sure she never misses out on any treats that might fall out of your pocket!

❤️ My favorite thing about Luna
My favorite thing about Luna is her sweet yet cheeky personality. She’s such a cuddle bug and loves pats from everyone, but her mischievous side keeps me on my toes!

🎯 One thing I’ve been working on with Luna
I’ve been working on Luna’s greetings with strangers and unfamiliar dogs. Sometimes, she gets spooked or frightened, which can lead to unexpected reactions. To help her, I call her in when I spot someone, clip her on a leash, and calm her by having her sit next to me. I spread treats on the ground to encourage sniffing, which helps her relax. Depending on the situation, I either introduce her slowly or guide her away using treats or more sniffing.

Luna’s favorite thing in the world is zooming through the forest with her friends, splashing in water, and running through puddles!

My favorite thing about Ralph is seeing how much confidence he has built since coming out with Zoomies. Also, all the cuddles 🥰 and cuteness 🐾 that Ralph loves to give me!

🎓 One thing I’ve been working on with Ralph
One thing I’ve been working on with Ralph is some basic puppy training and commands. Ralph is doing amazing at sit, wait, and down, and the next thing for him to learn is touch ✋. These skills are great to teach a puppy early on, as they’ll understand them as they grow up, making it easier to get their attention when you’re out on walks 🐾.

To kick the year off we are doing a Zoomers bootcamp 🐕 At the end of every adventure, we are practicing and perfecting our Zoomies commands in a solo and group setting:

My favourite thing about Frankie
Frankie has the most contagious happy and bubbly personality! No matter the day or what’s going on, every time I arrive to pick her up, she greets me with a wagging tail and the biggest smile. She never fails to brighten my day.

What I’ve been working on with Frankie
When Lisa first met Frankie, her excitement levels were through the roof. Over time, she has come such a long way with her amazing mom Emma and we all couldn’t be prouder of her progress!

One of the key things I’ve been working on with her is her stick obsession. Frankie loves sticks—she would search high and low for the perfect one! While her enthusiasm is adorable, sticks can sometimes make her overly hyped, leading her to ignore cues or get a little wild.

To help her manage this, I’ve been teaching her to balance her love for sticks with calm behaviors. On the flip side, we’ve also discovered that sticks can be a helpful tool for Frankie. If she gets overexcited during playtime, giving her a stick to chew on and sniff while taking a little “me-time” helps her settle down. It’s been incredible to see how she’s learned to regulate her energy while still enjoying her favorite activity.

Frankie’s favourite thing to do
Frankie’s all-time favorite activities are collecting sticks and going for a swim. She especially loves splashing through the muddiest puddles she can find—nothing makes her happier than a good mix of water and dirt!

Frankie has made amazing strides with her excitement, and I’m so proud of how far she’s come. She’s an absolute superstar! 🌟

Using treats in training is NOT bribery—it’s science! 🧠🐶 If you think giving your dog treats means they’re only listening for food, think again! 💡 Proper training uses reinforcement, not bribery. The difference? Bribery happens before a behavior to lure the dog into doing something, while reinforcement happens after to strengthen the behavior long-term. Even police K9s, guide dogs, and service dogs are trained with food rewards—because it works! And guess what? Once a behavior is solid, treats can be phased out and replaced with real-life rewards like play, praise, and freedom. Stop the “no treats” myth and start training smarter.
