I’m fresh back from spending a week in Auckland catching up with my North island family and seizing the golden opportunity to immerse myself in an intensive of learning at Groomwars 2024.
(An expo on everything dog grooming or dog related)

I attended two workshops watching brilliant groomers from America
Nathan and Kathleena Austin groom a beautiful standard poodle and Bichon
And Blake Hernandez do an Asian infusion influenced groom on a sh*tzu and a miniature Poodle.

My real reason for attending was to partake in the behavioural grooming workshop with Jade Lewis from DBT Australia

What you might not know about me is my deep interest in dog behaviour, my dedication in learning and understanding your dogs signals to unravel the complexity of behavioural issues that surround grooming.
This follows on from my training I attended with Mark Vette.

It was wonderful to see Jade in action share her knowledge and affirm that I’m on the right track.

Rest assured your dog will receive a good hair cut at Kanuka Dog Spa, But more importantly I’m dedicated to learning understanding and respecting your dog 💚🐾

Tui is just so beautiful and girly with her luscious lashes and long pig tail ears. She has the waggiest tail and a lovely calm nature. She is so relaxed she slept through the rest of her visit while I groomed her brother 💖

Lola is a bit of a foodie, she loooved her peanut butter licky mat whilst in the bath today 😍

And it’s snowing here at Kanuka Dog Spa…., I hope everyone is snug and warm at home. I’m pleased all the dogs came in today during more pleasant conditions, and we were all snug with the heater on.

Koffie loved his treats ❤️ all natural wholesome dried liver from Otago pet foods, delicious Fank you 🐾
