Dog Poisoned by the Diffuser
Saturday night I got home late and my dog didn't recognize me. Being a nanny I thought I woke him up and he was having a night terror. Sunday, he was still acting weird. I realized that I had been running my new diffuser and decided to turn it off. Sunday afternoon, he was feeling better.

Today at work, my dog sitter said that he wouldn't come out from under the bed. It was very odd as he is a happy dog.

I came from work early and again, he was very confused about who I was.

So I took him to emergency vet.

It turns out that the tea tree oil I was using in the diffuser is toxic for dogs. Thankfully the test showed that his liver was ok but we weren't out of the woods yet. He was given fluids under his skin to get the toxins out.

The vet and the poison control are saying that they see these cases often now that the popularity of essential oil is growing.

Please make sure that the essential oils you are burning are not toxic for your pets.

Here is a list of essential oils not to use if you have a dog at home

Anise (Pimpinella anisum)
Birch (Betula)

This is a message received from a client. The product being spoken about here is the Repello Pet Guard/Equestriguard Shampoo. Here is what she has to say.

"Please don't laugh, but today I washed my hair with that shampoo you gave me as a sample๐Ÿ˜…
And to be honest with you, my hair feels like silk and I read the other day on Internet that geraniol is excellent for your hair! Regards, Yuliya."

This product, as well as containing geraniol, also contains 'neem oil', which moisturizes, soothes and heals itchy and damaged skin, while at the same time ridding your best friend of fleas, mites and even ticks.

If you love your horses and other pets, why wouldn't you use a product that even the ladies love?!

Our Story

Repello is a company that is founded on the belief that we should all have access to safe and sustainable products. We fervently believe in our Natural and Non Toxic range of products. They are safe to use around the home, especially for children and on our beloved pets.

All our products have been tested in laboratories for toxicity and efficacy. The action of our products is to repel insects and when applied directly to the insect, will dehydrate and kill the insect within a few seconds. They will even dehydrate any eggs that the insect may have laid. This is unique in that most products on the market use a derivative of Pyrethrum, which although some would claim is natural (some do use natural Pyrethrum, but many products use a synthetic version of this active), is a nerve toxin which attacks the nervous system of the insect. It does not kill the eggs which do not have a nervous system.
