Oh the joy of a fine afternoon, out on an adventure with the Friday Goodsorts! Charlie rocked up with a new look, courtesy of a trip to the Groomer. He gave a couple of demonstrations, of how the streamlining had improved his speed. There were a lot of sprint exhibitions from other dogs, inspired by Charlie’s challenge. Oscar gets more height in his sprinting than land speed. After the showing off was completed, we headed for the pond to cool down. Georgie gave everyone a swimming lesson. Buster was the only other dog that got in for a swim, the rest stuck to paddling.

The Lab Lad’s enjoyed a leisurely stroll on a lovely Spring morning. Buddy, who never forgets where a pond is, hightailed it up the track and into a pond. He came out with a pine cone that kept him busy for the rest of the morning. Ozzie and Lizzie did their best to steal it from him. Ralph cleverly hung back and then swooped in to claim it when they weren’t looking. Fleur and Finn stuck to the important task of sniffing out good stuff.

Scooter spotted a goose with her chicks on the far away pond. He backed himself to stealthily swim all the way across the pond and capture them 😲🥺. We watched from the bank as his little golden head got closer. Mother goose was not fooled by his silent approach, she moved herself and her chicks further away, whilst raising the alarm. Out of the reeds comes the Gander and Scooter does a quick about turn. Buster swam out to accompany the brave adventurer to shore. Scooter exited the water very pleased with his daring mission 🤣. The dogs enjoyed playing in the ponds today. From ankle deep safety, Bowie had a marvellous time.

The Spice Girls were without Fleur and Moose this morning. We still had 5 dogs vying for the shotgun seats. Daisy doesn’t care if the seats are taken, in she gets. Best friend Mabel has to sit beside her, so we have 4 dogs squeezed in together. The van is a manual drive this week, so gear changing is through the front legs of Meadow who is determinedly holding her spot. Eventually sanity prevails and Lizzie decides that the seat behind the driver looks more comfortable. And off we go!

Gorgeous sunshine for Ted and his team today. They spent a lot of time fetching pine cones from the ponds. Paddy and Roo loved racing to be first to get the cone. Big Ellie was good for the dive bombs, which were so big that they sometimes caused the cone to sink.

Jed was up for being chased today. Tova is usually more than happy to chase the living daylights out of him, but today seeing he wanted her to chase him, she decided she had better things to do. 😂😂 Nancy doesn’t require chasing, she just runs fast anyway. Sheer unleashed joy. Molly and sister Geri (the great Houdini’s) are up for a good behaviour certificate. Their disappearing tricks are hopefully a thing of the past. They may have been given a leaf out of Molly the Collie’s good habits manual. You would be hard pressed to find a better behaved dog than Molly. Nala gets the prize for most enthusiastic. She just loves everything!

The Hairy Maclary crew out enjoying themselves today. We had Nelson, Poppy and Lily sporting new hairdos. The dog you knew, often comes back from the Groomers, unrecognisable. You have to double check that you’re dropping them home at the right house. No mix ups so far 😂.

Fleur had a family birthday in her household today. She dressed up for the occasion. I did draw the line at the strappy sandals 😂. She was very pleased with her look and was hoping it would win her ‘best dressed’ for the Melbourne Cup celebrations. The dress survived some energetic back rolls and a dip in the pond. You looked beautiful Fleur.

Gussie’s gang tried out a different track today. Peak excitement levels! Millie and Lillie hit their 10,000 steps within minutes. Buster and Belle combined for a synchronised paddling performance in one of the ponds. Very elegant display! We encountered a fifty metre stretch of boggy puddles. Loved and used by all. Fortunately we had one more pond to pass by, one with clean water. Belle was having none of it. The same went for Lillie, Murphy and Whiskey. So if you have a stinky dog at home, this is probably the reason.

Chilli’s crew, made the most of a beautiful morning, whilst out on their adventure. With the sun shining, all was good. Who cared about them getting into a manky pond? The sun was shining!
