The Friday Goodsorts had great fun running fast at the dog sled tracks. Lulu has really gained in confidence and daring this last few weeks. She lost Brownie points when she rolled in a very stinky dead possum 🤢. Straight to the dog wash!

Chilli likes to be the leader. He is a great navigator, and always knows where the van is. This is because by hook or by crook he is going to be first back and rightfully claim the shotgun seat. He has a rival, Bella. She jumps in the back and squeezes between the gap in the seats to claim second chair. She morphs from a stocky Staffi to a Dachshund as she wiggles through. Walter lost his collar in the forest. He also rolled in a dead possum 🤢. A trip to the dog wash was required. I dropped him off home, smelling lovely, with a bright pink collar on. He looked beautiful 😁.

Willow’s crew know how to have heaps of good fun. They love to swim (Bowie, only to the knees), play chase and tussle over sticks. Willow flushed a pūkeko from the flax surrounding the pond. She was taking her time, the other dogs had moved on to the next pond. But not little friend Buster, he sat and watched and waited for her to return 🥰. My Molly was ecstatic, finally she had found a crew that would chase her. Biscuit chased her anytime Molly wanted until Biscuit found herself a stick,seemingly a real treasure, as everyone wanted to steal it from her.

Ted’s Team had a relaxing stroll through the forest. Most of the dogs were chewing on the grass that grows alongside the trail. It must be tasty! Kaya found a pine cone to dismantle. She had to do it smack bam in the middle of the track, right where the dogs gather sp*ed running downhill 🤣. There were some athletic sidesteps as a result.

Hugo was back in action with The Dude’s today. He has been at the kennels while his whanau were on holiday. He has come home hoarse, so I’m guessing the kennels were running dog karaoke and Hugo wouldn’t give up the mic. Made for a much quieter van ride 😃.

Fleur was dressed as an angel today as part of her Halloween celebrations. She thought the wings gave her added sp*ed. Jed had his first day with this crew. He will be adventuring with them every week. Despite all the shenanigans going on around him, he fitted in well. Dobby is loving the fun games Lizzy and Murphy create. Sticks are always involved. Molly likes to join in but has to rush back to check on her sister, Geri. Geri was being closely watched, having disappeared in the bushes, on her owner Sam last night. Nancy is our navigator. She does a great job, but is secretly hoping to be first on the trail of a possum.

The Hairy Maclary crew are the weather wizards. Once again, a lovely afternoon of sunshine, for them on their adventure. The van has been decked out with new carpet and some additional dog beds. The dogs all gave it close inspection and they seem to approve of their new furnishings. Nelson was quick to score the big bed, but everyone was happy in their own preferred spot. Buster loves the little black bed, sometimes we can’t see him in it and do a quick search for him. 🤣.

Nelson was locked inside when I went to pick him up today. The look of desperation when he realised that the treats were driving away 🤣. He was much relieved when we returned with the key. Dobby joined the crew for their adventure today. Brownie was rapt with the amount of surface water lying on the tracks. She had a swim in every puddle. When we got to the pond 8 Paradise ducklings and their parents were swimming on it. I braced myself for the carnage that was coming. None of the dogs showed the slightest bit of interest in them. !! They were all invested in helping Buddy excavate a stick from the side of the pond. Syd who has form in “untimely death of fowl” showed great restraint and should be rewarded with treats Cherie.

The Friday Goodsorts are kept entertained by Georgie and Riley, who never stick to the track. Instead they prefer to freestyle it. Georgie always comes when you call her but Riley can get bouts of sporadic deafness, especially if he is onto the scent of a possum. The other dogs go about their own adventure and are more than happy to stop for a treat while we wait for Riley to arrive, which doesn’t take long as the treat bag is quite a magnet. Oscar was full of beans, his feet hardly touched the ground as he zoomed around the tracks. They are such a happy wee troop.

Paddy made the cut and joined the Lab Lad’s on their adventure. Ralph and Lizzy love to spend their time stealing sticks from each other. Nelson, newly appointed Captain, stuck to the time honoured tradition of sniff and p*e. Sooty would approve. Fleur had a lovely pink dress on, which she trashed with a barrel roll in the first puddle we encountered. Buddy was keen to get to the river but was just beyond his range of “I’ll just whip in for a quick dip, pick me up as you go past”. And I made sure to maintain that distance for the morning. Buddy will be planning his revenge 😂.

Walter and his crew had sunshine for the entirety of their adventure. The second we got back in the van, it poured with rain. Perfect timing 😁. Elvis joined the crew, he is away tomorrow and didn’t want to miss out on his adventure. He thought he had found himself a girlfriend but Bella quickly knocked him back 😩. We walked through the forest to the beach and circled back to the van. Some lucky opportunist stole my afternoon tea while I was talking to another dog walker. Chilli had crumbs around his snoot😂😂.

Jed, a handsome black lab had his first adventure today. He came out with Willow and her crew. The showing off in the van, surprisingly, did not put him off. He may come prepared with ear muffs next week. Jed had lots of fun with the other dogs. He got Buster to chase him and then they all joined in. Jed’s side-stepping and evasion tactics were hilarious. He is a big dog and fleet of foot doesn’t come in the design package. He should be sleeping soundly tonight with the workout he had. Jed had the perfect first day. Good boy Jed 👏👏🥰

The Spice Girls had lots of fun in the puddles today. Wee Mabel was wise to keep clear of the “big girls” ,whose splashing would be like a tsunami to a small dog. And of course there was heaps of chasing games. Skyla, the sp*ediest dog in all packs, has moved to the countryside and can no longer join her crew. We will miss her. She is such a lovely dog and brought lots of fun to her crew. Hopefully she can get the bus into town for the occasional adventure with the Spice Girls.

Ted’s Team had a lovely walk through the forest to the beach. Kaya caught a whiff of the sea and we were off sprinting to get there. Vegas came back to check that I was on my way, all the other dogs were surfing the waves. The tide was out so they had a big area of beach to run around and play chase. We finished up at the river to wash out the sand.

Oliver is moving to Australia this weekend. So today was his last adventure with us. He loves Oreti Sands, so we went there and had a great time. We will miss Oliver, he is such a wee gentleman and the best trained dog in all our packs. We hope to get an update from over the ditch, once he has settled in. Safe travels our dear wee friend 🥰.
