After a few long weeks we have finally completed the cattery upgrade after its well overdue renovation! A lot of blood sweat and tears have gone into this project but well worth the effort. Thanks to those who persevered with our closure/temporary set up so we could get this done - is all for the love of the cats 😻🐾💕 P.S will post befores and afters in the comments

‼️ Extended opening hours for Labour Day ‼️

As we have many guests leaving tomorrow we have decided to extend our opening hours to enable a smoother check out process for all. Our Labour Day opening hours will be:

9.30-11.30am and then again between 3-6pm

Also if you have any trailers/caravans etc, there is plenty of parking space on the side of the road so please no trailers in the carpark.

Happy International Dog Day!!! 🐶

Let’s celebrate all the pooches - big and small in our lives 🐕 Their playfulness, affection and loyalty makes them the best fur friend to have ❤️

As you know, we love everything dog (and cat) here and everyone is treated like our own!! Our head of concierge, Asha, takes her role very seriously and is happy to accept pats and snuggles as payment on the way past the gate 😍 feel free to share any pics of your precious pups and share the love of mans (and woman’s) best friend 🥰 xx

Update on our Pawgust journey......

Today is DOLLAR FUR DOLLAR DAY - All donations made from 10am today will be MATCHED DOLLAR FUR DOLLAR up to a total of $5,000 by a generous Blind Low Vision NZ supporter! This means $5 will become $10 and $50 becomes $100 etc. Donations will be matched up to the value of $250 each.

Our team (The Lornewood Lassies) progress so far - we've raised $264 and walked 180kms! Help us get to our target of $300 and 500kms. Head over to our page and donate just a dollar or two and today that donation will double. Thanks for your Supawt!!!

Hi all, the Lornewood team are participating in Pawgust this month! 🚶‍♀️🐕‍🦺 This is a fundraiser for the Blind Low Vision NZ organisation who help support blind and low vision people and train blind dogs here in NZ. In doing so, we have set ourselves individual goals of how many kms we will walk in the month of August. As we all love dogs, we thought it appropriate to get behind this cause and we'd love for you to support this great cause with us. No donation is too small (or too big😊) and every little bit helps. My personal goal is to walk 300kms and I will be posting updates of mine and the girls progress throughout - we'll be out there rain, hail, sun or snow. Bittersweet emotions this weekend as we say goodbye to our long term tenants who finally get to go home after almost 12 whole months!!!

Meet Henry and Wesley.

Henry installs heat pumps! Wesley doesn’t, but he is very happy that Henry has just installed 3 large cassette type heat pumps to warm the kennels so that on nights like this, he can snuggle up toasty and warm. Just like Scruff, Peppa, Sass, Lola, Harry, Wobbles and everyone else that is a guest with us, your fur baby will be treated to additional comfort over the cooler months! ☺️ 🐶 ❤️

And yes kitties, your turn is coming and your heat pump will be installed in a couple of weeks 🐈

Sadly, yesterday we had to say goodbye to one of our own even though she was only in our lives a short 2 1/2 years she filled us with everlasting memories and joy - we will certainly miss her antics and spunky personality. Fly high miss Phoebe and have a great time chasing all the mice in cat heaven 💔💔💔😭😭😭😿😿😿👼

Was a lovely surprise to receive this “smile box” in the postbox tonight from Doug (the dog 🐶) - It did have me scratching my head wondering if I’d bought something in my sleep or the kids had with my card🤣🤣🤣

So, if we weren’t busy enough playing with all the cats and dogs, we’ve decided to try our hand at flower farming 😜 we have almost 150 Dahlias planted out the back paddock which are all staring to bloom now so if anyone’s keen to purchase any flowers (or tubers when the time is right) send us a pm. This is still in “hobby mode” at this stage as we’re still finding our feet with them but are enjoying the process and the beautiful pops of colour 🌺 💐 🤩
