It’s been a week full of fresh (and familiar!) faces here at daycare!

🐾 On Wednesday, we welcomed back Hamish—our newbie/oldie! We actually met him several years ago, and he came back for a trial. He did amazing—super friendly and played non-stop! 🎾

Today, we had Yuki & Gizzy join us for the first time! 💛 Yuki is a little shy but has been settling in beautifully, and Gizzy jumped right into the fun, making friends like she’s been coming here forever! 🥰

We’re loving all these new friendships!

It’s with a heavy heart that I write this.

Tonight, I received the news every dog-sitter dreads—Louie has crossed the rainbow bridge.

Louie was such a character! When he and his brother, Eli, first stayed with us a few Christmases ago, Louie was shy and wouldn’t eat. I soon learned he liked eating near Eli—as long as Eli didn’t steal his food! Feeding time was always funny; I’d cuddle Eli to distract him while Louie ate in peace.

Over the years, Louie grew more comfortable. He played with other dogs, chased balls, and we even celebrated his 10th birthday with cake and treats!

The last time I saw him, he was happy, eating well, and making new friends. This morning, his mum called with the news—Louie was terminally ill, and they’d made the heartbreaking but loving decision to let him go.

Louie is now in doggie heaven—free of pain, yapping, and playing. My thoughts are with his family and his loyal brother, Eli. They gave him the best life, full of love.

Rest easy, Louie. You will be missed. 💔

A tail-wagging kind of day! 🐾
What a fantastic day we’ve had with some of our favorite pups! From morning zoomies to afternoon snuggles, our furry friends made every moment joyful. We spent time playing fetch, enjoying sunny walks, and giving belly rubs galore — just another day of love and fun at our dog daycare.

Anna & Blair: the Story of how Rocky & Co. came to be.

We began dog sitting in 2014 when we lived in Redwood, Christchurch. Our idea was to offer a pet-sitting service with a “family experience”, as in the dogs that we looked after would stay with us inside the house (no cages or kennels) and would go on daily walks with me.

First, it was called Anna & Rocky Pet Care because we only had Rocky then. As the number of furry clients grew, it became a dream for both Blair and I to have a larger property where we could look after more dogs. In 2015, we purchased our current property in Clarkville, Kaiapoi. We also adopted Wookie in the end of 2015 and Jack in January 2017. Therefore, the name of the business had to change to something that would include all our dogs and their new friends. Rocky & Co. Pet Care was born!

We now have a large grassed area for the dogs to play and run around during the day.

And at night time, the dogs sleep inside the house in our lounge on any of our several dog beds and couches.
