Zeus is such a champ.
He now weighs 65kgs but gets in the bath and onto the table unassisted.
The deshed on him is a 3hr+ job but the result is so rewarding.
I bet he will have a good sleep this afternoon.🥰
Thanks to his fabulous owners for entrusting me with the groom.

what can I say!!
One year of SallyWags is fast approaching.
It’s been a blast
Amazing owners and their dogs. The support has been mind blowing.
It is special getting to know the dogs and watch their confidence grow in me and the grooming process.
Last weekend I went to Auckland with my friend Helen Faith from Dogworx to a practice comp with tuition from 4 master groomers from around NZ.
The learning never stops.

John and I are experienced dog people and your dog will join us in our house so that they can feel as close to home as possible.
We love to get to know their character and individual needs.

When two dogs from the same family come in for grooming I really enjoy grooming and bathing them together. This keeps them calmer and happier.

This is my own dog Paua. He is an 8 yr old Lhasa Apso. I had always had big dogs and horses!
But I am now a small dog convert and little did I know where this conversion would take me.
I discovered that I enjoyed the grooming process (Paua not so much). I taught myself how to groom him.
That was then. Now I am a fully fledged dog groomer having completed 10 weeks training in Auckland at the beginning of this year.

for being such a good mate, companion dog and helping look after my little doggy stay dogs.

How rewarding is my profession?
The satisfaction of seeing dogs work with you in the grooming room is very special.😍
My Newfoundland client Nova climbed in the bath herself and stood on the table like a pro.
That is pretty helpful when you weigh 65kg!!

Harold has been staying with me for 4 weeks. I’m not sure I want to give him back!!
His Mum picks him up tomorrow so he’s had a full groom and looks beautiful.

Well it’s over a month since I started my new business.
I have met many new dogs and owners. All of which enter my heart each in their own way.
Each day brings a new challenge and I’m loving it.

My boutique small dog stay visitors get to feel as though they are ‘at home’. I love getting to know and understand their characters.
Harold has been with me for 3 weeks now and has made good friends with my dog Paua.

I am very excited to announce my awesome new business venture - SallyWags Dog Grooming and Boutique Homestay.

My passion has always been working with animals and most will already know it’s mainly involved my love of horses, however I have made the switch to dogs!

I recently spent 10 weeks completing a Dog Grooming course in Auckland and have set myself up at home in Kerikeri with a beautiful space, in a dog friendly environment.
