We lost our 2nd owned bc on 15 Nov 2024 ole lady Ms Storm at the age of 14 yrs 8mths😭😭😭😭

Our hearts are absolutely shattered💔💔💔💔

For those who know us will understand what our dogs mean to us💞💞💞

One of the hardest days in our lives....

RIP our beautiful stunning ole lady Ms Stormy, you are already so very sorely missed.....🐾🐾🐾🐾

‼️IMPORTANT NOTICE ‼️

FIREWORKS!🎆

While it is fun for us, unfortunately, our fur babies do not like fireworks and can turn into nervous wrecks😱.

The consequences can be disastrous both in the short term and long term. Each year, many fur babies end up leaping fences, being hit by a car, breaking through windows, or having long-term skin and anxiety issues.

Even fur babies that are contained feel the anxiety creep up with each noise and may start to moan, shiver, or toilet inside.

Here are a few tips to help your fur babies get through this stressful time🐾🐶:

1. Safe place: Keep them inside, in a confined place such as a crate or a room with a safe place to hide, away from windows and doors.

2. Cover: They might feel better being covered as it provides a safe haven. Thundershirts are vests that apply even pressure to the body, like being wrapped in a calming blanket. (You can order one of these at your local Vet)

3. Music: Playing music, especially something soothing with harp, can mask the outside noises and help them tune out the scary “booms”.

4. Treats: Have plenty of treats on hand and reward them with some games and yummy incentives to remain calm.

5. Exercise: Tire them by exercising them before the fireworks begin. That will make them less likely to react.

6. Pheromones: Products made with pheromones can help relieve the stress. Adaptil for dogs are the products we recommend.

7. Baby talk: Baby talking can actually tell them that “it is okay to be anxious.” The best thing to do is to be calm and reassuring and to never punish a scared animal.

8. Identification: Make sure they have proper identification and are registered with the Companion Animal Register and your local Council.

9. Medications: Calming supplements and medications help relax them before and during stressful times.
