Sooooo if anyone is after babies I have 3 boys and 2 girls looking for homes. They are ready to go to their new families this weekend.

UPDATE: one pair of girls left.

We have 3 boys and 2 pairs of girls looking for homes and who will be ready to leave next weekend.

Parents are Cotton (Tails of Tuppence) and Interstellars Finn (from Scruffians)

Babies are black berks, Irish and some slight vari.

We are all sick in this house so updates have not been top priority.

But today was separation day so Hugo and Leo moved in with the boys to teach them all things rat for the next few weeks until they go to their new homes.

Babies are 23 days old now.

Everyone moved to a bigger cage with new things to explore. All babies are trying new foods and drinking from the water bottles -which I think is adorable to watch.

Cotton is enjoying having a choice of hammocks to lounge around in but there is no escape from her babies they find her everywhere 🙂

Everyone will get names and seperate photos taken this week, so keep and eye out for cute belly shots and E names 🙂

Girls took the photos tonight while snuggling and protecting their toes from tiny teeth 🤣

14 days old and everyone has their eyes open and they are deliciously soft and adorable.

Cotton is a fantastic mama but is possibly regretting 14 kids now that they are exploring the cage and can see where she’s hiding. She will be so happy when they get moved to a bigger cage and she can have a hammock to hide in…..until the little furballs realise they can climb. I think she will get maybe 2 days of peace if she’s lucky.

Perfection. 12 days old

Some of these babies are super explorers. They’re not afraid to leave the igloo and blindly walk around the cage. One of them can run really fast too 🤣

This morning I popped some food in Cotton’s cage. She was feeding in the igloo and was obviously ravenous because she flew out that igloo so fast, her babies were yeeted all over the place 🤣

8 days old!
I thought I’d show off the cute wee Irish bellies some of the bubs have got going on.
Everyone is very well fed and happy including Cotton. She’s being a fantastic mum. No fuss, no aggression just her normal lovely cuddle wanting self.

Missed yesterday’s pic but look at these babies today! 1 whole week old. They are just starting to get fur and I can see belly markings.

4 days old! Look at these chonky healthy bubs 😍 Cotton is doing an amazing job keeping this lot fed.
She’s doing great too. Hungry happy and always up for some love. She doesn’t fuss when I check babies and does a quick check when they are popped back in the cage then comes out for her cuddles. ❤️

Over the last month we have had to say goodbye to our lovely Girl Tuppence who our Rattery was named for.

Tuppence was one of our first girls along with her sister Vera. She had our first Tails of Tuppence litter- 4 absolutely adorable chonky babies with our beautiful boy Mowgli. Artemis and Armadillo are both lovely big boys so we are very happy to have them here and hopefully have Tuppences loveliness passed down in the future

Today we said goodbye to our last original boy Bear. Bear produced many babies at 4 ratteries in Wellington and now has his offspring in Auckland and Christchurch ratteries. He was about 3 weeks away from turning 3. He had a great life. He was our baby boy minder when bubs we’re seperated from mums and their sisters. Him and Mowgli were perfect teachers.

Bear will be very missed but we have both sons and daughters here to carry on his line. One being Cotton who has just had a litter so we are spoiled with his wonderful genes everywhere.

RIP to the two rattos that helped us start up our Rattery. ❤️

3 days old. A big bunch of lovely dark babies. Everyone is doing great.

Day 2 and we have pigment starting to darken up the bubs. Everyone is eating like champs….including Cotton 🙂

1 day old.

We are down to 14 bubs now, as two died overnight.

14 seems to be a manageable number for Cotton. All babies have lovely full bellies and are very vocal when they want feeding.

Our clever girl Cotton had 16 bubs today!!!

One looks very very sickly and is tiny compared to the others, so I don’t think that runty baby will last much longer.

The other 15 all have lovely full bellies and are all looking good.

Cotton is doing a fantastic job on her first day as a super mama. She’s got some very busy weeks ahead of her. I better make up some super food for her to feast on.

Miss Cotton came home yesterday and look at this belly she’s got going on 😍

We are so looking forward to having babies here again. This is also our first litter with one of our own babies being the Mama. Cotton is from our C litter her Mum is Athena and her Dad is Bear. So it makes it a bit more special for us to see these lines continued.

Big thanks to Interstellar Rattery and of course their beautiful boy Finn.

We said goodbye to our beautiful boy Mowgli this morning.

He’s lived the best life full of love and kisses. Kaitlin kissed and cuddled him right up to the very end and made sure he knew he was so loved and one of the very best good boys ever.

Mowgs will be missed like crazy. He and his brothers Pluto and Bear all arrived just after the first COVID lockdown and Mowgli won our hearts pretty fast.

We are very lucky to have some daughters and sons here to carrying on his line. Hopefully one of his daughters will give us a little Mowgli lookalike very soon.

Toodles Mowgli we love you lots and thank you for loving all of us back x ❤️

Miss Char - one of Mowglis daughters has gone off for a wee holiday to Bohemian Rattery NZ to hang out with a lovely big squishy boy for a few weeks. Hopefully she comes home nice and fat and we will have babies sometime in Dec.

It’s been awhile since bubs have been at our place. We have been patiently waiting for everyone to be old enough to be paired.

I’ll go through our waitlist over the next week or so and make contact with everyone to see if you are still looking for little rattos to give a home to.
