🎄5 tips for making the holiday period stress-free for your dog🎄

Christmas often brings a change of routine and in the home environment with extra visitors and noise, which can prove stressful for dogs. Here are some tips to make the holiday season less stressful for your furry friends.

🌟 plan ahead and create a safe place for your dog in a room or crate where they can choose to go to if they need some space – this should be somewhere they want to go to willingly, not somewhere they’re forced to go, or used as a punishment

🌟 leave them a special long lasting treat in their safe space - stuffed Kong toys are great for this and can be prepared in advance

🌟 ask guests not to disturb your dog when they’re in their safe space

🌟 watch them closely for signs of anxiety or being overwhelmed

It’s about time we introduced Doggie Delights NZ!
My name’s Shay & this is Onyx, In February 2024 I lacked purpose whilst struggling with my mental health, during this time my darling rescue Pitbull found me - when she came home she was 6 weeks old and only weighed 2.4kg (she was tiny)! Although I was determined to get her healthy & build our bond, there was just one problem - she refused anything but kibble! So with urgency I crafted nutrient fuelled treats to boost her body condition. Almost instantly friends and family created demand for our product & I had a passion!
I consistently noticed an exciting effect of my handmade treats…..Not only have they improved ease of training, day to day happiness, but also enriching owner and canine connection!
From there it felt only right bringing it to the market to enhance the lives of all kiwi dogs & owners.
Thank you all for supporting Onyx & my journey so far, I am overwhelmingly grateful to be apart of creating these impactful connections with your furbabies.
