The team at SPCA have been working hard to bring a FREE CANINE VACCINATION DRIVE to Hawkes Bay.

On November 01, both Napier and Hastings Centers will be closed for the day so we can vaccinate & microchip vulnerable dogs in our community, most at risk of contracting (and sharing) Parvovirus.

We know vaccinating your animal can be an extra expense that some owners are struggling with right now - and we are here to help.

If you think your dog might benefit from this free service, then please the QR code below to register for this event!!

Priority will go to applicants within our highest parvo effected areas - we only have 50 spots available per center, so get in quick!

From hissing and back-arching, to purring and cuddles, Empurress Purry Pants (yes, that's her name!) came a very long way in SPCA's care! 😅🩵

Brought into our Napier Centre after being found in a trap, Empurress did everything she could to be appear tough - though that facade melted away pretty quickly, once she realised just how nice cuddles and chin-scratches are.

We love happy endings ❤️🐾

This wee girl (previously named Porsche) was adopted by a lovely young lad who has poured his heart and soul into her.
Now named Mahina 🌙 - meaning Moon/Moonlight, she has learnt Te Reo commands and is a bilingual doggo now!
And her new Dad sure has a talent for capturing beautiful photos of her ❤️🌈

🦎It's not every day SPCA staff get a call about a SNAKE in the garden 😯... but our Napier team didn't hesitate to assist! Much to their relief, the snake in question was infact, Bluey, a well loved pet who had been missing for over a year! With the help of our friends at HB Bird and Wildlife Bluey the Blue Tongued Lizard was reunited with her family today. Well done to all!🦎

📣 New Zealand – we need you to join us by making a submission against cruel farrowing crates! 📣 The Government has only given you until 23 October to raise your voice!

As you might have seen in the news, the Government has announced its appalling plan to change the Animal Welfare Act to allow the use of horrific farrowing crates indefinitely – even though they were due to be banned on 18 December 🚫

In their efforts to let this happen quietly, they opened public consultation last week, giving you just TWO WEEKS to make a stand by writing a submission.

They’re hoping we won’t have enough time to raise our voices. Let’s show them how wrong they are.

What an awesome day out Napier’s Pawrade.

It was a beautiful morning of tail wags, treats, and walkies through the city as we got to celebrate Dog-Friendly Napier.

A huge thank you to Animates and Vet Services Napier for the spot prizes and free nail clips.
And to all those who came to say hello, especially the pups who have been adopted from the SPCA over the years. It was wonderful to see everyone again.
