Fake honey. If its made in a lab then how can it be honey. This is like all the others, milk comes naturally from mammals, whales, cows, sheep etc. if it comes from a plant and needs to be processed it can only be an extract not milk. Should be labeled "essence". Manuka honey from Australia, yes. The plant had 40/50 names but when Maori arrived there they gave it their name. Manuka.

I find it a bit rich that the Government are persecuting Wellington Council. The Government do not pay rates do imagine, how much the Wellington rate payers are subsidising the rest of the country. Think of all the water/pan tax that all others are paying which is only part of it. Millions $$$. Government, NO. The Wellington parks dept. will be maintaining all the grounds, at the rate payers costs. We have all suffered, even here in sunny Nelson with a council giving them selves a warm fuzzy feeling when they tell us that they have kept the rates down. Wow! we will not do any maintenance of water etc but the bill will be much larger for the next council. And then Someone said,"Hey wouldn't it be great if we paid the staff more than a pittance" and immediately a huge cost which hadn't been budgeted on. Maybe the Government would be better employed getting their books sorted, where are our Hospitals, Schools etc that we have been promised.

The World is watching. 1 fifth or 20 percent of or navy sank. Now we are going to be scrutinised by the rest of the world on our quality of clean up. We should but lets be honest. Birds could die, fish could die and polution. Makes you think with the bird scarers that Russia and Israel and others have attached to there missiles. Killing humans, yes, but birds. Disclaimer. We did put out a warning to all birds to leave the area. What about the ozone depleting, global warming polution from exploding missiles. Maybe the watching is in the wrong direction.

A bit over a 100 years ago Dunedin was flooded. The 1 in a 100 year rain. All the drains were blocked but as it would be another 100 years before it happened again so the was no urgency to clear drains. Mother Nature doing what she does best started another 100 year cycle and did the same 6 days later with even worse results than the first. Boy we can be dumb.

The price has gone up!!!, we cannot now afford the Dunedin Hospital. Wow! I bet no-one other than the government knew that there has been inflation. The costing was done over 4 years ago and they seem surprised. What, that much? Every county in the country has been suffering these cuts since as long as the powers learnt to speak. Cutting taxes and then telling us they cannot afford it is insulting our intelligence but gives them a warm fuzzy. We are still waiting for the Richmond Deviation to be completed 30 years later what chance has Dunedin.

I've been robbed. At 2100hrs yesterday I was assured that there would be 12.5mm of rain left in my raingauge. When I checked this morn there was only 2.5mm. Is this the rain equivalent of "disinflation"

The remit of Governments is to leave the country in a better place than thay found it. Power charges too high, who put us in the position where the power needed to be sold. WE owned it and then sold it. A few years back the Railway was sold, all the assets were sold and then we bought less back for more than it was sold. Now the stupidity of talking about selling the ferries. again we will need to buy them back at even greater expense. Politicians don't take any notice of the past, present or the future. Some world all of their own. The moment they get involved we seem to get stung for more.

Happiness is a contented house. Lasted all of a few minutes and then, bedlam! Now I think the Tv may be too loud. Hearing aids crapped out a few minutes ago, possibly to the neighbours displeasure also.

They falcon paying another visit. Had hold of a chicken trying to pull it out of the cage 2 days ago.

The latest chickens. I thought they were safe, the falcon is a very persistent predator. Caught 1 trying to pull a chicken through the bars, kitten was watching but didn't want to get involved as it would have been on the menu. Now cage is dual walled.

A new arrival. Has taken longer than I thought. It came through the fence followed closely by a rooster, is on its 3rd feed in 2 hours but it doesn't look as if it has been dumped for long. Possibly 10/12 weeks old.

Nose in the trough. It smells like a Rakija factory. Not there to day. Probably the reception when he got home lastnight, Mrs Hog said, "If your going to come home drunk tomorrow don't bother coming home"
