We have some special animals coming to our Show. We just love these Black-nose Valais sheep and thank you to Dayboo Stud for bringing some of your draft horses. Did you know that Draft comes from the Dutch word "Dragen" meaning to carry and transport?

As this is our 160th Year of the Palmerston &Waihemo A&P Show in our area we are thrilled to have a heritage exhibit hosted by the Oamaru Ordinary Cycle Club.

Penny farthing riders from Oamaru will have a traditional 1880's bicycle camp at the show, and will offer free penny farthing riding lessons rides to children and adults.

New Zealand pioneer wheelman and expeditioner, David Wilson, the only one to have peddled a penny farthing from Stewart Island to Cape Reinga will be making a guest appearance

Garden & Gallery Photography section. Framing your photos is not required in the adults section. You may like to mount them though (this sets the image off & protects the edges). A good size is 6x4.

We are thrilled in this 160th Year of the Palmerston & Waihemo A&P Show to have a great amount of community involvement. We are excited to have the East Otago Community Orchestra give a short performance from 11am on the stage in the Garden & Gallery . (The Sportshall).

Oamaru Ordinary Cycle club are treating us to a display of their Victorian bicycles and costumes on show day 1 February. Additionally we have an interesting all day program of entertainment and over 35 stalls including Totara Estate, hand crafts, ice cream, savory treats and much more.
For the children we have Pippety Pop, the hobby horse competition and Pet Parade.

The Hobby Horse challenge is on again for kids (and big kids). Lots of fun! You can make your own hobby horse from timber off-cuts, fabric, cardboard, - even an old sock. Look on-line for ideas.

The supreme winners this year will receive special Premier Show prizes. To compete effectively in the competition enter as many sections and classes as you can - this will net you the maximum points. Those with the most points win the special prizes. This includes children - more sections entered = more points. Good luck everyone.
