Ear Problems with Dogs
As the weather warms up and becomes more humid dogs with allergic skin disease tend to have more issues with secondary infections.
Ear infections are common in these dogs. The odd scratch is just housekeeping, however if the dog is scratching more consistently, there is redness around the base of ear flap/opening of the ear canal, any discharge - commonly brown wax but can be more creamy yellow - this suggests a problem. Scamps Pet Health People can help with ear issues - examine the ear, take samples and treat appropriately and for those dogs that have recurrent issues suggest some strategies for reducing the frequency of ear infections.

TIPS FOR TRIMMING DOG'S NAILS
Ideally, a patient, conservative approach is taken with nail clipping from an early age and the dog becomes comfortable with the process and tolerates it well throughout its life.

Unfortunately, this is not always the case. Review of Euthanasia at Home

'Taking our dearest Nemo to the vet clinic was what was preventing us from booking her euthanasia. The vet clinic was a highly stressful environment for her and she was often very difficult to handle and restrain. We did not want her to suffer more unnecessarily.

'Nemo's euthanasia changed from our family "dreading it" to wishing we had done it sooner due to the simplicity and privacy. We were able to take our time and not worry about holding it together at the vet clinic. Michelle was amazing. Her vast experience was obvious and her empathy with ourselves and Nemo made the process so much easier.

The procedure was performed without moving Nemo off the bed where she had been sleeping. She was so calm that it felt like she was entirely unaware of what was happening. We did not feel rushed and Michelle was very professional, explaining what was going to happen and what she was doing every step of the way.' Jenny
